Use a knife / blade to get the worst off then if u want to get it all off use autosol

Ok, with autosol disslove it to bits? Its sealed up tight between the pipes. Basically everything visible has already been chipped away, but there some inside which I need to get out, so I can change my exhaust. I tried just twisting the pipe to crack it, but it wouldn't budge..

Oh i thought you meant you had the exhaust off already, in that case i dont know sorry

Nah, my apologies. I've got a hi-level pipe, firegummed' onto where I cut the original, but I can't fit my bazooka for an MOT at hi-level, so I'll need to take the link pipe off, but it's on there strong..

Gently hit it with a hammer? wrap the link pipe in a old t shirt or something? might break it away a bit better then

+1 I've never had a problem going for an MOT with a sports can.

Don't heat it - on my old bike the link pipe cracked off just past the end of the can through vibration, tried blowtorching the damn thing to loosen it, but it just hardened up the gum/wire pack it was held on with. Had to peel back the clampy bit at the end of the can like a banana skin. It looked bloody s**te when it went back(TBF so did the beer-can repair to the link-pipe!) Can you ask at a bike shop?

IME it falls off on its own!

same experience here. Give it a couple of months of riding and watch it crumble to dust and disappear.

But you used to let it do that just for the sound, how does a bike fail for having loud pipes my tester complains if he cant hear the engine enough but theres no code to give you an advisory for being too quiet!

My link pipe dropped off occasionally and even by direct comparison to a stubby can with no packing at all it was OTT! Rattled your brain through earplugs lol
