Would I be able to get a few quid for a blown enigne? There is a hole just above the starter motor where something has been spat out! Due to lack of oil.

Worth anything?

I'ld have it for spares, problem is usually the cost to ship them around.

If you have the time strip it down. Sounds like all that will be damaged is the front barrel and possibly head. You still have a gearbox, starter motor, crank cases, sump, rear head etc. Even your cams if they survived would easily sell to a curvey owner.....

Hmmm, fancy selling the cluch cover and generator cover? Let me know.

I am completely useless and wouldnt know what part was what, let alone get it apart!!

Saying that, it could be a good way to learn these things.

But ideally I would just sell the whole thing.

How much would you want for it?

That was my question!? What's it worth?

Was curious as I may suggest that my mechanic could have it, if he knocks the value of the engine off the labour.

But he probably wont want it. So then I could offer it up here.

(I will know by tonight wether he does or not, it if you are interested Typhoon)

Looking at eBay, seems the bits aren't valued as high as you'd expect. Complete cylinder heads weren't even getting bids at £4.99 with some sold at 99p. Can't see many takers for the bottom end either as it sounds mangled.

Is it a pointy or a curvy?

Yeah this is true, because the engine is pretty bulletproof those sort of bits aren't really needed or in constant demand. However when I drilled through the water jacket on the front head trying to extract a seized exhaust bolt a few years ago there were no front heads to be found anywhere. So I ended up buying a whole engine. Then just keeping the spare bits I didnt' need for a rainy day. Ended up needing the LHS Case from a lowside at Rockingham and my mate needed a gearbox as his was lunched.
However from a club racers point of view they are worth having.
