gruntygiggles
07-07-10, 12:39 PM
It's normally £125 for the day, but I'll see what Gav wants to do as he or I was going to ask them about a discount.

Wideboy
07-07-10, 02:43 PM
well sometimes a business will give you a discount if you book in mass... e.i. "oh me and (x number) of my friends were thinking of doing a trackday here seeing as we're all booking any chance of a discount?". Doubt you'll get much off but its better than nothing

phil24_7
07-07-10, 06:47 PM
Try the old..."Were off a forum and wish to do a track day. Would you be prepared to offer our forum members a discount?"

This is how I sorted 10% with No Limits and Focused Events

Hi, just saw the thread, I'm going to Castle Combe on 1st Sep too. Will have the SV up and ready, as it's a few days before the New Era race there (4th Sep).

Bike is black with thick white stripe and edged with gold stripes running down the top of the length of the bike. I'm normally parked in the pit lane, as I launch and recover there.

Might also have my first 'pupil' there as am aiming to teach paralysed riders how to get back on a bike, but waiting for the guy to get back to me.

Please come and say hi as I've only met a few from the site before. Cheers, Talan.

amanda's beloved said that the sv would be to noisy which i thought was rubbish and acording to the website aparently they claim the standard sv wont pass their noise regs as would gsxr's ect

metalhead19
10-08-10, 08:41 AM
standard sv wont pass their noise regs

That has to be crap, the bugs splatted on my visor make more noise than a standard SV can.

Talan

That has to be crap, the bugs splatted on my visor make more noise than a standard SV can.

I ran my SV SK5 with a Beowolf end can, which initially was 106.8db, then put a db killer in it and it went down to 93db! Therefore, I'm thinking that a standard can should be fine and I have run mine there with no problems in the past.

Wideboy

safer to ride fast on a track than on the road, well IMO it is, plus you'll learn a fair bit

Wideboy
11-08-10, 04:46 PM
huzzah i got a reply!!

i said that i had roughly 10 people wanting to attend and was told that the spaces where there and filling up fast (but this is business talk remember ). Doesn't look like a discount is on the cards :(. I also asked about 2 people bike sharing, they said it was fine the bike would be split into two different groups but again didn't say about price  so im guessing both would have to pay full beens. I get the impression they don't want to give me much information ......

phil24_7
25-08-10, 06:12 PM
How many sessions do you get on track and how long is each session?

Wideboy
25-08-10, 06:17 PM
Castle Combe Circuit bike track days are days when you can ride your motorbike as the designers intended it to be ridden, legally! The day starts with a detailed safety briefing, after which you will be taken on a session of sighting laps, following one of our instructors. The day runs from 9am-5pm, there is a lunch break from 12:30-1:30pm. All riders will need to be at the circuit for 8am, to complete the on day administration, sound check and attend the compulsory safety briefing. There is a maximum of 12 motorcycles permitted on the circuit at any time.
thats all i got.

i thought i read they were 20 min session but i cant remember for how long....... wouldn't take my word for it tho

metalhead19
25-08-10, 06:28 PM
Think they are 20 min sessions, with 3 groups. So you get 20 mins an hr on track, unless they start open pit lane. That is what they used to do for cars (on busy days so if its quiet may be different) but may different for bike days

phil24_7
25-08-10, 07:34 PM
That how most track days operate, but most have more than 12 bikes on track at once, so can't see how they'd be able to have less in each group but have the same amount of groups and track time, without jacking the price up a fair bit?!

metalhead19
25-08-10, 09:44 PM
Maybe smaller numbers allowed to book up?

Nick_69
26-08-10, 08:54 AM
It says in the site that only 12 on the track at one time so that's gd and if it's less than that they mite make it an open pit lane

metalhead19
26-08-10, 10:15 AM
Im booked. So we can live in hope for open pit lane

Nick_69
26-08-10, 01:04 PM

metalangel
27-08-10, 05:51 AM

27-08-10, 08:00 AM
