No, feeling inadequate now! :D

That is a some mo Sir Trev, something like I am aspiring to, but need some growing yet... What effect does the wax have? Is it just added to the ends to get the pointy bits?

I hope so, It has been caught early as he mentioned to the Dr at his regular checkup that he was going to the toilet more often and more frequently and they ran some tests. MRI and Bone scans all came back clear so it hasnt spread and is localised to his Prostate so hopefully will work out well for him.

Like you say discovered early enough is treatable, leave it to late and it reduces the chances...

Fingers crossed for your dad Fizz. Mine is in the same situation, though with him they can't operate for various reasons. Even so the treatments they have these days are really effective, and they have been managing it with very little change for c. 5 yrs now, and the ongoing prognosis is fairly good.

Makes you appreciate how important this type of fundraising is - it really make a difference. GO MOS!!

My normal appendage has "droops" but I removed those before letting the ends grow out. Don't feel jealous guys - I've had face fungus for 24 years so I've had quite a head start on most of you!

The wax application is a bit hit and miss right now. It's the first time I've grown things out enough to try it so i'm still learning. Ideally you only need a bit on the ends to twist the extremeties but if you want to style it more then just add more.

Have a look on the Handlebar Club's website for a whole page of wax reviews and some application advice. I have the Clubman wax which is a medium hold but it does not stay up for long (no sniggering!) but that may be down to insufficient length (I said no sni... oh forget it). It will be interesting to see how it copes with longer whiskers by the end of the month. If I do this again next year I may try the firmer stuff to get a more radical look.

Come on - let's have more pics of your Mo's!!

Fantastic! Cheers!

The droops started getting trims last night. I have been trimming the edges of the tache growing area to 'square' it off a bit- otherwise it looks big, round and makes me look rather dopey.

No cash until next Thursday, but I will be investigating wax from then on. I think this 'tache will be here beyond the end'o'Movember!

I took great dlight five minutes after taking those photos last night in trimming the damn thing back to it's usual number 1. It feels SO much better!

Next year I'll go for a silly connected shape rather than a handlebar. Unless I can get some better wax...

thedonal
01-12-10, 02:09 PM
That. Is (was) a masterful display of facial topiary!

Nice one!

I'm only getting started on the twirly bits- and I need some better wax too. Getting there, though!

I shaved my off this morning, thank goodness was begining to get on my nerves, and Liz's.

The team at work I am in raised £225 which is pretty good going.

Well done to you all for having a go, even if you only got a few quid in sponsorship it all counts.

That pic of me in a "Dali" pose has gone viral at work. There are now six teams within global finance canvassing votes from the rest of the workforce with that pic of me as one of the "teams". Each vote is a $5 donation with our VP matching all the cash raised - what a dude!

Our UK team has also taken part with over three grand raised so far. Way to go Dell.

Fantastic effort! Think you should definitely have kept the Dali look though.

I'll be posting updates as my handlebars extend...

There will be a good few on here doing it.
