The only part of facial hair I can grow properly is my tash, but my face is so young looking I'll look like an absolute ****. Plus I have a family funeral to go to early november now, so I don't think it would be appropriate!

I've kicked a work team off so I'll be doing it but not under Grinch as I don't think you can be part of multiple teams which sucks a little bit :(
I will however be sporting the silly facial hair & rattling the tin :D

I cannot bring myself to shave my 'tasche off (long story involving death of a friend) so I cannot join in properly. I am however growing it into a silly shape. So far SWMBO has not noticed but I've started strategically shaping it and by the end of Movember it should be suitably eccentric.
Lets make sure we keep this up in the New Posts list with regular links to the sponsorship pages in this thread. And we need pictures people!

Yes- I didn't read the rules properly, so shaved a goatee beard and left the 'tache.
So I'm aiming for twiddly bits at the side for the end of the month (and will be possibly purchasing was for the purpose soon!).
I'm rather stubbly now...

Our WW VP just had his monthly finance all hands call and has challenged us all to take part. He's not fussed if those of us with Mo's already do so without shaving off first (yay) as long as we "get creative".

On another note has anyone else noticed that there is quite a mainstream following for this now? I've known about it for a few years, but my **** poor facial hair has deterred me. All of a sudden everyone at uni is doing it, despite never doing it previously or even hearing about it previously...

I found out on Friday that Byron Proper Burger restaurants are supporting Movember. If you can show that you've raised over £25, you get a free burger between 3 and 7, for the WHOLE OF MOVEMBER!
I'm gonna look like Elvis* by the end of this month. Fricking good burgers too. S**ts on GBK too- the chilli sauce is actually hot (when does that ever happen in public?!! edit- and not in a kebab shop..)

My dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer a few months ago and is currently under going treatment, he was due to start radiotherapy at the begining of this week, but its been put back to january now.
So kinda of important to me at the moment...

Fizz, sorry to hear about your Dad, I'm sure he'll be fine, thankfully with early diagnosis this is one of the most easily treated forms of cancer, which makes the high rate that are diagnosed late all the more depressing.

Good to see the progress chaps. I had a resounding response of 1 from my team mates (the other 7 blokes kept very quiet) but even that one guy is getting grief from his wife and is about to throw in the towel.
Personally I've had a go with the 'tasch wax. It is seriously wierd stuff. Didn't work too well but I put that down to not enough growth. Will wait another week and try again. In a month or so I could probably manage a reasonable "Laughing Cavalier" job but then I've had a 24 year head start with it...
Will post pics when it takes a shape. Promise.

In respect to getting stick- I reckon it's "how" you wear it. I've been a lot more outgoing since the 'tache and seem to be getting (almost) nothing but compliments for it. You just gotta be proud of your mo!

I hope so, It has been caught early as he mentioned to the Dr at his regular checkup that he was going to the toilet more often and more frequently and they ran some tests. MRI and Bone scans all came back clear so it hasnt spread and is localised to his Prostate so hopefully will work out well for him.
Like you say discovered early enough is treatable, leave it to late and it reduces the chances...
