Got knocked off my bike tonight. A guy drifted out of his lane and clipped my rear wheel as I we exited a 2 lane roundabout. Only doing about 25mph but it still hurt! Bike damage was limited to left indicator and mirror, crash bung and gear change lever. The clothing I was wearing is ruined from sliding down the road and can only be described as rubbish, since my jacket did nowt to protect my arm and now has a wee hole in it. My left hip is agony as that's what landed first. Also smashed my iPhone screen :(

And the good news? Police car behind the idiot saw everything and the guy might be getting done for something or other. Will only be a small claim I think but at least it's non-fault.

Wont be that small a claim. You are looking at repairs to your bike plus replacement of all your bike clothing, boots gloves and helmet, all of which were/might of been damaged sliding up the road. Then there is the pain and suffering from your injuries.Get yourself seen by the doc so these are all documented.Several grands worth there if you do it properly.

I can't. I'm driving to County Fermanagh at 9am! I'll just have grimace all the way there. Its all tissue damage as I'm fully mobile , just uber achey! I'll see my doc on Monday when I get back.

Surprised the cop was even admitting to seeing things. When I was taken out from behind the cop in the next lane said he didn't see anything, but heard the bang and saw me fly through the air being chased by the guy who then continued to run the red light.

So did the guy for running the red light, but not for hitting me even though I was already stopped.

now you can get the cage driver (who should be made to resit his test/go to specsavers) to pay for some nice new:
1) leathers
2) helmet
3) Aftermarket indicators, New End Can, New Tyres (after all, car hitting one will do damage to it and they will both need replacing to "ensure safe running"), new color coded wheels (just because) and anything else you think you need.

Goto town with him, my local HG shop will let me take any damaged gear to them and they'll sort out the insurance documents for new gear (write off old and quotes for new), ask at your local one see if they'll do the same.

Hope all is well and the bike is fixed soon.

Good luck with the recovery. Make sure that you keep a pain diary. A couple of people mentioned it when I had my off and it became an extremly good point of reference when talking to solicitors. Make sure you document everything so you can back everything you claim for up. After my experiences over the last year and a half you will be better off getting as prepared as possible. And the same for your injuries. If it isn't documented then it will be very difficult to claim for.
And make sure you have a good solicitor handling everything. There are several dedicated firms around so give them a call. My vothe goes to White Dalton, but they are the only ones I've had experience with, but it was very good. My first solicitors were an unknown firm that bought my case from the insurers. They knew nothing about taking my case on and were arguing with me telling me to accept an 80-20% against me. WD got me 100% on Tuesday!

Defo claim the car drivers insurance for the entire lot m8. Make sure you claim for all new OEM parts too..

It's dopy buggers like that who cause all the grief, driving without due care and attention (most likely charge he'll get from the plod). Whats the bet he was adjusting the radio at the time? Probably...

The car driver will get a scare when his renewal comes through the post!!
