Ever seen the TV series Man V Food?

I've never seen how Americans eat til I saw that! Well the programme is OTT, but Peg says its horrific the quantities they eat over there....

...which reminds me......theres an AR food mountain sat in various points around HX. I do hope that the YCmobeel can cope with the weight!!!

:smt045 my mate got me into as part of my training regime for going over there! I like Pawn Stars too on History, some people on there are just mental! Only reality shows I watch 2bh

I saw some sights over there. Sights usually found in the ocean being chased with a harpoon gun

Anyway enough about America, its all about Yorkshire this weekend

Would anyone be so kind as to lend me a tankbag for the rideout? Need to put the camera somewhere...

It is lashing it down. Glad I am sat in a tent I thought you'd all be in the drying room. That its the first thing you see is a hint to the likely weather.

Would like to give a big thank you to everyone who helped out yesterday with my puncture particularly Peterco and Rictus. Got to the petrol station put 42psi in and checked the repair, all was OK. Set off home and after about 25 mile the tyres going down again, filled it up and the repair checked OK. So must have had 2 or got another. Limped home from station to station and got in at 23:20 The wife bollocked me then went to bed, maybe I should have called her.

Things to remember about AR11

Don't use the M606 around Bradford, it disapears into the ringroad, thereafter into no mans land, missing signs and hoplessness.

My Goretex textile suit is not monsoon proof, so pack the one piece to go over the top

Neither are my 'waterproof' boots. pack wellies next time

Never let DP have a megaphone

Thanks to Lou & Ol for popping my AR cherry :notworthy:

I had a fantastic time and felt very welcomed - enjoyed every minute - perhaps not so much while my boots & underpants were soaked through, but storm clouds aside it was the most fun I've had on x2 wheels.

Thanks to the organisers, markers, and drunks for all the entertainment!

This AR was a bit rough for me (no fault of anyone else but me and sods law) so apologies if I didnt seem as socialable as I should have been.

I let the missus pack my clothes (or lack of...) so I spent a lot of it wet/damp and cold, plus a load of things on my bike broke and now the list of parts to get is fairly damaging to the wallet :(

Buuuut I still had a good time and the best thing about the AR as always, is seeing old and new faces again.

Things that made me chuckle at the AR...

- Hongman's oven gloves
- AndyBrad's uber camp dancing whilst marking junctions
- The HUUUGE crack of thunder & lightning just as I rolled past YorkieChris on junction marking duty, who duly sh@t a brick
- Bibio's clearly drunk SatNav
- DavePreston
- BlueFlame's snoring (sounded like he was caught halfway between a fight and an orgasm)
- The shameless use of another man's wife to go and fetch indigestion tablets (you know who you were!)

I'm sure I'll think of plenty others...

Ah yes, gloves in oven at 75C to dry out!

I duly forgot about them as I went to the BBQ and then **** myself when I realised I'd left them in there.

Cue fast walk to bunks to check, halfway there someone says to me "Can you small plastic burning"

Cue sprint to bunk house to discover it was locked up, but some responsible person has turned the oven off.

Thank you, whoeever it was!!

Fab weekend. I know how much work, time and effort was put into this years AR, it really showed so huge congrats to Ollie and Lou for making it happen. The weather couldn't be helped and everyone remained surprisingly high spirited despite being sopping wet! My first AR on my own SV was definitely one to remember, I'd never ridden through such torrential rain on it before and I live in bloody Yorkshire :D
