I would normally drive anywhere, like over the cat and fiddle when it's closed. This is my first snowfall in the 1 series... Initially I couldn't get off the drive... And it's flat! The wheels just span no matte how gentle I was. 18" 35 profile runflats are dangerous in the snow.

That's really funny as we are about a mile away from DMC and we had some but it has all gone now YAY!
He said a light sprinkle tb fair, its mostly gone by me now, just shaded areas down my road, but what is left has froze.
My road doesnt get passing traffic so is always really bad when ice and snow are about.

well Jambo's decided today isn't a biking day, got to mine (about a third the way to work) and after sliding about on the ice beneath the snow, parked the bike up and has gone on by train.

I think it's probably the most snow I have ever seen here... earlier this year it was thick but not as thick as it currently is. It lasted ages earlier this year as it froze for 3 weeks afterwards.

We have over 30cm here now... I'm half tempted to go for a walk at lunch...infact I may go now, we have near vertical slopes around the quarry and one of them is perfect for sledging lol

I went down the slope last year...jarred my back, won't be doing it again lol... the kids had the air ambulance out in January of this year as the ambulances could not get down into the quarry.

Here is the slope, you can just about make people out in the picture...

It does not look so bad above... but as a reference, the ariel of the house is the one in the photo below... The slope is maybe 20 storeys high... and is also the way out of the quarry.

The north nottinghamshire accent is horrific :puker: there is an estate about half a mile away called bellamy road estate and it's very rough, they all come from there for the slope.

The fence get damaged everytime it snows but it always gets fixed pretty quickly...the slope is MASSIVE.

The langeage is stypical of most of the kids around here sadly.

They are still building houses on the estate, I believe they are your typical safety bags that go on the inside of a scaffold when building upwards, incase the incompetent fall when laying bricks.

That hill looks pretty cool, the park over the road from where i grew up wasnt much different to that slope, slightly less gradient and not as long, but we used to make it pure ice where the grass was worn and then try and skid down it on our shoes, good times.

The snow is taking the **** here now... snowed all night, I have anoth 6"+ on the drive that was clear last night. We have well over 1 ft of snow which could be here for week if the temps stay low.

I just walked to two local shops, both are empty of basic supplies and can't get deliveries.

I live in Mansfield at a place called Berry Hill, which we are at the top of... Ironically Nottingham has nothing in the city centre apparently. I just sent those photos to my work in Frimley/Farnborough as they have none either and find it hard to believe.

Keep an eye on this.

The roads in York a virtually impassable. More heavy snow due at 15:00 and the buses have just been withdrawn from service.

I personally would not be venturing up the A64 to Scarboro. Especially up witwell hill!
