Started up the GSXR on Saturday after winter hibernation
Had to bump start it a few times as the battery was not in a good way (optmiate is obviously knackered)
After riding to London and back i gave it some wellie on a dual carriage way and then let off the throttle and it gave one heck of a backfire from the exhaust
It does not sould right now (in my mind) i have checked the system and i cannot see anything obvious but as it has its mot tomrrow :(
Any suggestions if it could of done damage?
do you have them power valves in exhaust? couldve caused some damage to those maybe? does it sound different at higher revs or lower revs or both?

It is a straight through pipe
so the power valves will have been removed
It sounds louder
I checked the headers as much as i could and all the pipe work but no gapping holes or sections missing
The exhaust is still geting hot.
I thought i might have blown a section of the exhaust out as it seems loud now with the baffle in. :(
not too sure then mate, hope its not blown a hole through somewhere you cant see, or its blown gasket up.

could have blown some wadding out ?
It sounds louder because it has been sat in the garage for so long you have forgotten what it sounds like,,,,
TBH, I haven't a bloody clue. Feel free to ride down and I will look over it with a knowing eye, and then put the kettle on.:)

Can't be that much wadding in there as it was practically a straight through pipe.
Tony:
Would be good for the knowing eye to have a look over and as you know what it sounded like before might be helpful too
Might pop up if it passes the MOT.
I was thinking of going round to helmet city over the weekend if it was nice.
