Is a little ACF50 followed by vaseline going to work as well as contact cleaner followed by dielectric grease?

Thanks.

It's not but all you're "cleaning" is scratching the corrosion off the surface, and the ACF will creep into the crimped bit behind the connector and protect that better than vaseline alone. Only needs a drop.

You can use contact cleaner or WD first if you want.

Thanks. Short and sweet like a chocolate midget.

I use Contralube 770 (http://www.contralube.com/)on all the connectors of my bikes. Maplin sells it, or can be had from various eBay sellers.
