Thanks for last month I wasnt expecting to win with such great entries.

OK so in an attempt to level the playing field so that everyone with a camera can have a go. This months competition is to take a photo of an egg.

Not to teach you to suck eggs but ... the idea is that everyone takes a photo of the same item, just with their spin on it. Lighting an even round surface is trickier then first seems so I hope that even though it might seem like a mundane item, it turns out to be more fun then you might think. (I´m also sure this might put you off voting for me in future vote off´s ;) )

So here is my quick example, taken tonight with D90 (and highlights lovely the table´s crappy surface!)

Oh I remember this, one of the exercises in the book, now I presume you ment exterior lighting, however the intriguing thing about eggs (if there is such a thing) is they aren't linier in construction as far as thickness is concerned, this translates to varying light transmission through it.

By no means my original idea, but I've had a quick go at recreating something I saw a while back, on a longer exposure the thinner shell appears to emit rays of light.....(and it makes it look like the moon or some scifi planet).

I though it was pretty cool :smt102

Sorry forgot to update the main thread. I got drafted in to choose a topic after stuartyboy won in January and I'd said if I ever got a win he could have first refusal on posting the topic.

I've PM'd him yesterday morning, he was signed in in the wee hours of that morning so with any luck will be thinking of one. Failing that there is the 5 day rule now. Sorry to delay everyone but I made the offer.

Oh and while I'm on, thanks for all the votes last month! I didn't expect much but really wanted to get an entry in since it was announced, then Richie's last day post prompted me to take "something" at least and post it, that was the result.

Stuartyboy still hasn't logged in since the first of the month, has anyone got any other methods of contact for him?

Nah, he is hardly ever online! Try PM'ing Blueflame, he may be able to contact him for you, or Kilted Ginger.

? I'm online about 3-4 times a day. Brettus - just got your PM - there seems to be a problem with my PM inbox. Sometimes it's saying it's full whenit's not.KG is looking at AFAIK.

Theme is....."perfect"

Computers lack eyebrows and tone of voice. Contrary to your PM I received a few moments ago (you like a PM don't you) , I wasn't dragging you into my "nonsense". You came across, especially after your previous attack on me in public, a bit like you were snapping at me. If you weren't then fair enough and I apologise for suggesting you were having a go.

Anyway, you have posted a theme and alls well that ends well.

Oddball: Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves? Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here? Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?
Moriarty: Crap!

Hey ho, what's up with people today, stop being so sensitive. You'll live longer.

While I'm on, thanks MBK for trying to help and thanks for posting the topic stuartyboy!
Have at it people
