Hi all,
Havent been on for a long while.
Ive decided to streetfighter the bike. mainly because the paintwork was looking shabby and the bike needed a complete overhall.
Ive already painted her satin black and now im ready to work on the front end.
Basically id like to use the original clocks with some dominators and a fly screen.
Thing is i dont want to change the top yoke because i like the clip ons.
Has anyone done this before and could advise me on how to relocate my clocks and how to fix them to the bike.
Thanks in advance
Moo

I made a bracket that bolts to the ignition barrel bolts. You'll have to buy the back plastics for the speedo. Have you got standard forks?
I'll have some dominators for sale soon if you're interested

Thanks for the reply.
Do you have photos of your bracket annd where its bolted?
What colour are the dominators? how much are you looking for them? brackets and bolts included?
I'll get a photo of mine in the next few days.
I grinded the centre of the speedo mount out of the old hideous headlight frame, then re-welded it to a shaped bit of steel sheet, bent to the right angle. I needed to strengthen it with gussets cos it was wobbly at speed though. I then bolted it to the yokes using the bolts that tighten the top yokes to the fork. Haven't bought anything else, just modified what I had.
I'll see if I can get a pic up soon.

Thank you,
All photos and methods are appreciated. Hoping to be riding it again by next weekend so quick photos would be awesome.
I doubt I'll get some up before friday or saturday Im afraid, but I will do it.

The dominator brackets won't be any use to you. They are for 54mm forks. About £30 for the lights posted. Have you got heated grips? I've got another clock bracket the same as this one that I made with an extra bit under the clocks to mount the heated grips controller, but I took it and the heated grips off today.

Awesome.
do you have a photograph of the other bracket you have?
Im sure i could still use it without heated grips?
Would you be willing to sell the lights and the spare bracket together?
also what connector do the dominators have, will i have to cut into the loom?

I'm a bit busy just now. I'll try get a pic tomorrow of the other bracket. How soon do you need the lights? I'm can't sell them straight away because I still need them until I get my new lights sorted. I think I've still got the original dominator wiring that just plugs on to the 3 pin headlight connector
Got photos earlier than thought. As stated, its 2mm steel sheet, with grinded and filed centre section of current headlight frame. I used this as it retained the existing rubbers to mount the clocks to. Its got a slight bend in it for the angle, and two gussets in line with the speedo to stop it flapping about.

It seems my dads already bought me a set of dominators off ebay. i would still be interested in the bracket though if possible?

Sorry just in from work. I'll try get pics tomorrow of the bracket. Probably just as well you got dominators, it might be a few weeks before I could sell mine

Will be doing similar to my bike soon as well, changing the front end from faired to naked, Did you/will you be changing the wiring loom? Do you need to or can you just use the one on the bike already?
I will be changing to risers though and so will need a new yoke and bars, what else would i need to make the change? Or will the most of it all fit?
Sorry to 'thread jack' But need similar information and didn't really want to make a whole new thread.
Any help would be great :)
The light I got had an H4 bulb in it, so I cut off the connector on the headlight loom side, and an H4 connector and got my auto electricain mate to make up a much shorter loom with suitable heatshrink waterproofing, wiring in the headlight and indicator bulbs to the right slots on the connector, so that its clip on/clip off like it used it be. Cost £10 mates rates though.
Doing that ruins your headlight loom, but my lights were smashed up anyway, so no big deal.
You might need longer throttle/clutch cables and longer brake lines. I ordered longer throttle cables from Venhill (£22) and longer brake and clutch hoses from HEL (mines a SV1000 so hydraulic clutch though).

Cheers for the help, hoping to use quite low and short bars so with any luck will get away with standard clutch + brake lines.
