Yep, tis official, I have now ridden my SV :smt003 :smt003 :smt003
Only up the drive of doom but still, MY FIRST RIDE! :smt026 MOT'd this eve, YC drops her off at the bottom of the drive and gets me to turn her round on the sidestand, which I do (a little awkwardly but I managed it, she weighs a ton...) then I said...jokingly almost...can I take her up the drive? And bloody hell I did it, so pleased! She creeped up with a few revs no problem, as I was told to expect but still, not the same till you do it yourself :D YC turns her at the top and then I turn her again at the bottom, much easier this time, still have to work the technique.
Can't wait to take her out tomorrow eve when I've taxed her, eeeee happy Maria :flower:

Best colour of SV too!
Here's to many long and happy rides on your SV (and I'll bet it's not long at all until you've got the knee down!!)

I can't fathom my insurance out this time round. Nearly £200 it cost my to insure the YBR for a year...this time to insure a break much more powerful it was only £250? I know I'm female but YC's is the same and he's been riding a lot longer! Not that I'm complaining :smt053

Like I said to you last week, when I first insured Suzy, it was far cheaper than Matt had insured her for, and he had seven years on me.
Even with the Vrap, I still beat his insurance first time....cost me 40 quid  As a singular vehicle it was way cheaper than he'd ever insured it, every quote I'd ever got for one(when I was on the hunt for one) I beat his premium by miles...by then he'd been riding over ten years!.

Wow. I think I'm in love, and not with a greasy, oily, mechanical....hang on a minute LOL :D
We've just rode 20 miles together, YC in front on way there, me in front on the way back. It felt A M A Z I N G. The power, the vibrations, the quick responses, the engine braking, the noise, that smell of an oil leak from the clutch...lol. Ah, I feel on top of the world right now. I can't believe I have my very own SV! I've been on this forum how long? When I joined I never really thought I'd end up as an owner of me own curvy, and she's there, large as life in our garage!

I don't waste oil, there are uses for it. Like metal melting furnaces!
The garage threshold is a bit higher than the drain so any overflow can run down the side of the house

I know you have done loads of pillion riding with Chris and a fair bit on your 125 but take time, familiarise your self with the bikes traits and don't push yourself to what you consider your limits.Everybody takes time with a new bike to learn their and the bikes limits and when you have done this you can then push to keep up but please be careful.
I know I am considered an old fart but it is for your own saftey that I try and give a little bit of advice.
Enjoy the experience without it being heart stopping, live long and ride far.
Remember---Slowly slowly catchee monkee.

Nope advice well taken DT. I have done 250 miles on the bike in the last week, it being my only transport. I have to park it in an awkward spot at work and that I have to take slowly. I know what you mean about too much too soon but I am building the experience up slowly, even though it doesn't seem like it! My commute to work is 20 miles, to visit my ma once a week is 40, we did 80 miles last night and we're off to do twice that at the weekend. Then I have an adventure looming end of next week so start as one means to go on! As I say, fortunately I have the lack of testosterone on my side so I am competing with noone :eye:
