Can we play the game where you stick yer bike gear on, run 20 yards to a stick about 4ft ish high?
Stick your head on the stick and run round it 10 times and then try to head back to the start without vomiting in your helmet.
That sounds like good fun, I'm in. :-)

I've just completed Essex Police Bikesafe, riding with the firemen. The roads in Essex are officially fantastical. Especially when you're out with a marked bike.
I've got to book mine, with Thames Valley. Hoping to do it some point soon. Did you find it helpful and useful LPH?
Littlepeahead
27-05-12, 08:41 PM
I did. I already did it about 3 years ago and really enjoyed it but having not been able to ride for 8 months I felt a bit rusty and lumpy so it was a great way to get some confidence back. 15 blokes and I was the only female. I was paired up witht the fire service BMW (see picture game thread) and a guy in his late 40s who has a GSXR750. The gixxer rider is keen to do some further training like ROSPA or IAM so we may go together as Mr LPH isn't interested in doing any advanced rider stuff.

2 hours for stops and lets say 3 hours for the ride (might be better to put that down as 3.5 hours dependent on roads/traffic etc if you are trying to find out what time in order to do something else that day - definately should be back by 5 I would say.

tail end charlie..last chap / chapess in the ride usually a marshall to ensure everyone is together
Tail End Charlie (plural Tail End Charlies)
(chiefly UK, slang, in World War II) the last aircraft in a formation
(chiefly UK, slang, in World War II) the rear gunner in a bomber
The man guarding the rear of a patrol.

If you are going to camp at all, I'd recommend doing both nights and partaking of the Friday night fun :)
If the weather allows, and you are only doing Sat night, I'd just dump the tent in the morning and deal with putting it up when you get back from the ride :)

Just to warn everyone that we are still trying to arrange to have a fire but we cannot guarantee it.
The issue is lack of decent firewood and the rain forecast for Thursday and Friday.
We've had lots of offers of pallets and other softwood offcuts, but these don't burn for long enough. So at the moment Martin (NTEUK) is trying to source some railway sleepers, a chainsaw and transport to get them to the site, but it's only worth doing all this if the pub can offer some dry storage later in the week as there is no point in paying for sleepers that just end up soggy and don't burn after we've paid £40 for them.
Is it ok to allow non Sv associates on the ride.
Dave (street fighter R1) wants.to go for a blat if its not raining.
