Clothing - Here's your chance to join The GMV team? Ask not what your GMV can do for you, but what you can do for your GMV

Does anybody fancy taking this wee job on then? Start the thread, put the poll up when the designs are in and liase with t-shirt printer?

Think it was fenjer last year and ordered thru paulthe6th.

And don't listen to careless, you don't have to fight artful.:smt068:smt100

None of that nonsense this year thanks.

:grouphug:

I have offered my help with the t-shirts, but personally I think it should be the winning designer who sorts out printing etc,

This minimises disruption for design finalisation etc as KG said in the tshirt thread there may need to be changes in the design to allow printing so it is easier if the designer has final say on these edits.

Also, Ralph, arent Chile, Argentina etc are stages in the overall Dakar Rally?

Dumfries and Galloway isn't a stage in the Glencoe Massacre rally...

fenjer
22-12-11, 10:04 PM
Are we going to pretend GM stands for something different this year?

Tell you what the Beckham's kid was conceived in Brooklyn, but doesn't live there anymore, lets campaign for the Beckhams to change the kids name to 'Los Angeles'

Why add that? It's stupid and inflamatory, no-one is trying to start a campaign to change anything, I simply said that I thought GM V would be more apt as we weren't actually going to Glencoe this year.

-Ralph-
22-12-11, 10:50 PM
Wrong time of the month Fenjer?

BTW, Dakar's in Senegal, the rally used to go there, it doesn't anymore.

BTW no its not.

Dakar, as the Paris to Dakar Rally is now known is held in Argentina, Chile, Peru. This was what fenjer was saying.

Yes Dakar the place is in Senegal but thats not what fenjer was saying.

I don't see why this has turned into an argument, debate bitching session or whatever it wants to be called. I made a suggestion of what I personally thought, it was not gospel or the final decision on it. Anyone who wants to submit a design can use either GMV or Glencoe Massacre. I just stated my preference.

There was no need to be so personal in your other post either Ralph.

Oooh this sounds good, new on here so haven't been to any meets as yet. Which is a shame as due to some muppet in a car the other week i binned my SV which may get written off... The guy has admitted fault so I will get paid out, but am thinking a CBR600f or ZX6R, which begs the question; If I turn up on a non SV will I be ridiculed and shunned and told to go home? :)

JamesMio
23-12-11, 02:21 PM

I saw that yeah (actually saw it on gumtree first as I have vaguely started bike shopping!), unfortunately insurance companies being insurance companies, it may take time for me to get cash. If I had 1400 quid right now I would happily take it though...

fenjer
23-12-11, 10:22 PM
In answer to your question, no you wont get shunned.. Careless has a Triumph and various others have defected to the non-sv camp. lol

Last time I actually managed to get on the bike was Careless' October run to D&G and it was brilliant, really loved the roads down there.

Not been physically able to get on the bike since then as my knee problem has gotten worse and is now both knees. I should find out for definite what's causing it next week so with a bit of luck I'll be back on the bike fairly soon. Absolute worse case I may have to switch the SV for a cruiser - can I still come to the GM if I do?

Props to SIII for taking this on.

Just been looking for a place to stay around Braemar/Glenshee way (pre GM) and came across this

I know its the other side of the country but if your doing Applecross try this place. Its the house on the left in their title picture.

http://www.ceolnamara-lochalsh.com/ (http://www.ceolnamara-lochalsh.com/)

Mrs Chucca and I went there last year (last minute) Ross and Jayne were lovely the Bedrooms are great and the view in the morning is to die for...

We came back using this route;

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?saddr=ceol+na+mara+-+kyle&daddr=Broadford+to:United+Kingdom+(Kylerhea+Isle+o f+Skye+Ferry+Terminal)+to:A87&hl=en&ll=57.249709,-5.664139&spn=0.260766,0.615921&sll=57.054176,-5.348969&sspn=0.524297,1.231842&geocode=FQgQagMdhxiq_yEHuCO7b4Ti7Q%3BFQpzaQMd98Kl_ ykFAn3ORCGMSDFJFLcZ_9AvLw%3BFRg6aQMdmJGp_yE6U3t7RW Qx_Q%3BFSb_aAMdvmKt_w&vpsrc=0&mra=ls&t=m&z=11

Its worth the hassle for the nice wee Glenelg Ferry. My avitar is taken from Skye looking toward the main land, and its not the best view. Coming down the end of the old military road is just stunning!

SIII
30-12-11, 01:46 PM
So lets get this straight - were Ross & Jayne in the bedroom and was it the view of Jayne that was lovely? I'm hoping its not Ross!:smt009

p.s if the story I read the other day about the Krankies is true, there's not enough mind bleach in the world to erase that image http://i1132.photobucket.com/albums/m571/sv4me/fu-suicide.gif

I know how far you'll get on that route. I'm guessing you'll not get any further north than a village called North Ballacullish. :D

Me, I'd make a few amendments to the route. You've taken five days to get all the way up, but how long are you taking to get back to D&G? I'll pm

B7076...? Favourite roads 'ever'...? Really?!

(It's pretty good, but round these parts it's really only seen as a more interesting alternative to the motorway.)

However, if you liked that.. f'ck me, are you in for a treat with some of the others round here then Mr Wichard!

carelesschucca

The B7076 from junction 15 up to juntion 12 is a good road, but I find the enjoyment of it depends on how quickly your travelling along it...

My favourite road in the D&G area is the A712 from Newton Stewart to New Galloway. The A702 from Dalry to Elvanfoot is up there too... Just hope Ron is following the thread. ;-)

Seeing as folks want to know, and there is no secrets, the route is not confirmed yet but I can tell you that it is somewhere between 200 - 250 miles on the Saturday. Roughly the same as last year.

Hoping to take a run around soon with Carelesschucca and then can give out details. Not keeping folks in the dark for any reason, just don't want to tell you and then change plans.
