I presume that's a 55? if so they had a novel safety feature, on convertion to RH drive the braking system was plumbed from the left (this was done on a number of cheap car back then, not normally a problem), however the floor was so flexible the front seat passenger could stamp down and cause the brakes to engage,I always though it was one of those urban myths, but we actually tried it and it kind of make the car "hickup", great fun...:cool:

They look like wheeled maggots and the flat bed version can just about carry a wheel barrow before it is over loaded! awful things, not even big enough to put a sleeping bag in the bag if on a road trip and with less than a litre engine! Why would anyone want one?

The horrible aroma of plastic, the recycled air from the air con thats been on since the car came into service.
The soft suspension that throws you around the back like a tossed salad.
Sticky seats of that easy clean variety only found in vehicles that induces a queasy feeling ..I give you a TAXI! (btw not just the ones in HK)

Those doors are just silly, how often do you have to bang your head on them before you have the car dumped at sea? Also, what grade of stainless is it made from? Is it the one that reacts with wee to give you an interesting set of salts? Could be worth knowing what with the pee taking that will go on!

We obviously have poor taste! We like the five door version. They're extremely good 4x4s, and based on the chassis of my car :)

Although with a 30k price tag for the basic version, they're nice, and good.....but not that good!

Cannot understand why anyone would pay the extra over a Freelander. I think they look good but when you see them up close they are really small, Range Rovers should be big, especially at that price.

We don't think they look small up close, but then we know what is and isn't small as far as comparison to ours is. BUT I swear the three door one is more squat at the back.
Thing about Range Rover is that they are soooo mahoosive that they had to rethink how they could claw back sales, coz nobody wants a maaaahoooosive gas guzzling piece of crap that breaks down more than a Freelander does ;) IIRC correctly they ain't bad on fuel consumption either!
