i did look at where you were on the map you missy for kindly pointing out the link and i would have happily popped over on Sundy as I have nothing to speak of on but after looking at the list went for the person at the top within the area hence Suzukiness at No.2 :-) I feel all guilty now, well a little ..... no it's gone now, feeling normal again ;-)

Why feel guilty, I wasn't even thinking about having the camera passed on to me, just making an observation that folk back out of using their bikes so easily when they are why we are all on this forum in the first place. Just saying I'd personally be disappointed to turn up on my bike to find the other person had come in their car. Defeats the object a little IMO. But heyho. Nobody should need to justify why they've chosen who they're passing it to, we'll all get it eventually and I'm certainly in no rush :)
And I work most weekends anyway ;)

As long as the camera gets to its next handler, who cares how it gets there. I'd be disappointed if someone went by bike, as they felt obliged to do so because another felt it necessary to prove a point.
Interesting concept Brettus. I look forward to seeing the story unfold. :) I'd put my name down, but collecting and passing on might prove difficult.

Yeah cheers for that input. Obviously with the time of year leading to imminent crappy weather and dark nights its more sensible to use another transport option sometimes, I was more talking about in better weather if you have the opportunity to ride.

Thanks DB, I'm glad it's going so well and its not even 1/10th through it's journey yet!
Just for info, IMHO, everyone should do as they please to get it moved between yourselves, the project is about the content of the pictures, not the mode of travel.
It's the variety and differences that make this place what it is. We are all here because of our commonality but we get along (and are more than the sum of our parts) because of our differences.

I agree - as it meant I could pass it on after work in the cage, rather than having to wait until I was on the bike. Meant it could be passed on much quicker :)

Just a thought, it might be worth trying to get it to London to "over winter" as there are small journeys for people which will keep it moving. In the other areas there are some pretty epic distances to find the next people. Entirely up to the participants though as it is in your hands now.

Can always rely on Rictus to fit in one of his epic trips and bring it back oop norf :-P (not actually sure if he's even on the list? cos he should be, being a photographertypeperson..)

I've had no takers for the camera as yet either local or further afield. Looking at the map there's a couple fairly close to me that would finish off this area before going further away but the first to shout up can have it. Should have 3 of my pics today so shouldn't need it much longer.

Never did get around to buying any more batteries for the camera, I put 4 rechargeables in instead. They work fine so I'll leave them in there and I'll include a small charger with the camera. The charger only takes 2 batteries at a time so you'll need to recharge them in two shifts unless you have a 4 battery unit. They each need about 8 hours of charge time so an overnight job.

Although it should do with the early interest shown by lots of members. I was surprised by the lack of response when it was my turn to pass the camera on until Gary said he would have it next. It was a bit further than I intended to travel to pass it on but I felt it should be kept moving as intended so didn't mind going a little out of my way.
Even if it involves the camera being posted to the next ORG'er people should be offering to have it next if they've put their name down for it or ask for their name to be removed, the onus of passing the camera on shouldn't just rely on the current holder having to do all the work.

Sorry to have the camera as long as I did but was trying to contact both the other 'international players' via pm.
Having no luck after two weeks decided it was time to send the camera to someone else.
Ironicly anna had been traveling and pm'ed me later the same day that I had put the it in the post. (yesterday)
Sorry anna. :(
I'm sure somehow the camera will still manage to find it's way to you.
Since I was sending the camera back to the UK, I decided I should send it someone who'd already be getting it by post, and preferably someone that I know as well.

And a bonus pic for Brettus.
The OTaL camera sits perilously atop a mountain peak in North America at 4000+ ft.
Unless things change, this point is both the furthest and the highest the camera will be away from it's start.
Now if I can just get my left foot wedged in that slight hole beneath the camera, and balance real carefully with my other foot on the sloped side.
