Those who deny it are the most likely...

I'm not normally one to call these things out, but it had pictures of aroused man bits in the link ;-)

MTFU and get out on the ale. :-P

This is seriously great advice!

The thing to remember is that when you are looking for a partner, you have to think to yourself "Can I stand being alone in a room with this person for the rest of my cold miserable life?" That thought will pretty much end your desire to find a partner unless you find someone as miserable/lonely/desperate/ as you currently feel!

To be honest, there are so many useless, spoiled, whining tarts out there, I would rather spend the rest of my days alone on a deserted island than have to wade through that again! Too many people feel the opposite though, they would rather have a mediocre relationship than be alone! If you do think the former, when you do finally find some one worthy, they will be so pretty damn spectacular, that you will want to change that feeling and that is when you know that you are ready to settle down. :pale:

For now, enjoy doing stuff. Have a laugh with your mates, don't sit at home pining for a girl that will not love you. Going to the pub is about more than just getting rat faced (no really, it is!). I go to the pub to hang out with my mates, warm up after a cold ride, enjoy a pig face burger and enjoy good local live bands. :D

Back in my twenties, I was an outdoor sports junkie. I did things that were amazing, I went on the sort of holidays that you just cannot do if you are shackled to the old ball and chain. So my advice is this, live your life, get some experience of life under your belt, do some incredible things and stop worrying about getting laid. There really is more to life!

By the way, being gay is fine, if you need a chat, Aunty Jayne is here and I have some helpful literature! :smt103

Well in from a quick ride, did 11.7 miles 50 minutes 14mph average, not bad considering its been a few months since I rode a bicycle, and I'm definetly not gay, and I'm not arsed about getting laid, although it would be nice more often. Medicore relationship would do.
Dieting is hard, but I'm gonna stick at it this time, weight myself tomoz I don't have a clue.

Diets are rubbish, you lose weight, feel good, then put it back on!

Healthy eating, exercise and sticking to it, is better. You can have your cake and eat it....although for me, not enough exercise, is my downfall!

We tend to use up the previous night's tea leftovers for lunches, or I make a big pot of veg soup to last a couple of days. I stopped eating shop bought bread a few months ago cos it made me feel bloated and since acquiring a breadmaker I've not had these issues.
Crackers and cheese are a lunch favourite too.

Make your own flatbreads is the best way tot do it, then roll them up with your choice of filling, or you can just use shop bought tortillas. I you buy shop bought, get corn tortillas, slightly less fat and calories than flour tortillas, but they also contain corn flour, so better nutritionally.

If you see it at your supermarket though, buy some masa flour, sometimes called masa harina. It is pure corn flour (not the fine white corn flour that we use to thicken stews with). It is ground from corn. All you have to do to make fresh corn tortillas is mix 2 cups of masa with 1 and 1/2 to 2 cups water (add slowly until a ball of dough forms that is pliable but not sticky).
No need to knead this dough as it is corn flour and is gluten free. Just form into balls the size of tennis balls or a bit smaller, roll out between two sheets of grease proof paper (so you don't add any more flour) and cook.

Put a flat bottom griddle or frying pan over a medium heat, allow it to get to temp and cook the tortillas for about a minute each side until bubbles start to form and they are lightly toasted on both sides. If you wrap then in a clean tea towel they will stay warm to eat then, or if you let the cool and wrap tightly in paper, then cling film, they will keep for a few days easily.

Gluten free so won't bloat you...would be great for you Maria. You can even do what I do and mix crushed sweet corn into the dough as well, so you get the texture, extra flavour and extra goodness from the whole corn :-)

Fillings...instead of using mayo, use low fat creme fraiche/low fat humous etc. just as tasty, if not more so but no mayo.

Remember, all fats like oils, butters, lards contain 600 calories per quarter cup. mayo has a very high oil content, so be careful with it.

Hope that helps :-)

Oh hell yeah.

Get a small ham joint for a five, boil for 30 minutes, roast for an hour at 140 and you can slice when cool to have ham sandwiches or wraps for a week easily.

How far is your commute to college? I started commuting the 10 miles to work 2 or 3 times a week by pushbike 3 years ago, lost a stone and saved a fortune in fuel. If there's not a shower at college just take it easy on the way in and have a blast on the way home. Feeling fit is probably the best thing to boost confidence and make you feel good in yourself.

Not a typo, just a mistake with measures, should have read per quarter cup...ta, will go and edit.

The amount of extra calories that can go into a daily diet through the use of a spoon of this here and a bit of that there or a pick at a few things can be crazy.

Wideboy
10-10-12, 09:08 AM
I used to make my own bread with a bread maker and it was much better than shop bought. I have a physical job so tend to eat a lot, I'd have one doorstep in the morning, one at lunc, that would do me for the day until tea and im not exactly a small framed person. That and just drinking water throughout the day and that weight just fell off.

Now im lazy and eat shop bought, forever starving and even now I've eaten all my food for the day already.

You would be better off having two eggs, scrambled with semi skimmed milk and a slice of granary toast, seeded loaf, whole wheat toast.

4 eggs on their own is a big hit of protein in the morning. It is good as an appetite suppressant, but not so good for your bowels, lol. Add some fibre and carb element and even some olive oil spread like bertolli spread on your toast will make for a more balanced breakfast.

Fr dinner, you could do a variation on what we had last night. I made a pork chilli with pork loin steaks that have been in the freezer for months.

Chopped onion and a few cloves of garlic fried in a teaspoon of oil until tender, throw in your meat, pork or chicken or beef, anything really, just chop it up. Then add either ground cumin, a cinnamon stick and a chopped chilli, or just some chilli powder and pour over chicken or beef stock until meat is just covered.

Cook for half an hour, add a tin of red kidney beans, butter beans or similar and cook for another 20 minutes. Serve with rice or tortillas. Use lean meat and the only fat going in is the teeny bit of oil at the beginning. Tastes great and you can also pile in bell peppers to up your veg intake.

Get creative, there are loads of ways to eat healthily without scrimping on flavour!

The cycle to college thing is a really good idea. I used to cycle 10 miles to work each day (and back again). I've never had a problem with my weight and this didn't change my weight much. What it did do was change the muscle/fat ratio, and massively increase my appetite. Unfortunately in the new job I can't cycle in and i really miss it. Plus you don't have to make time, its "free miles".

Also I wouldn't weigh yourself. It doesn't matter what you weigh. Infact if you start doing a bit of exercise you'll probably find your weight goes up, even as your volume goes down, which will make it feel like you are going backwards. Your target seems to be looking good and feeling good (confidence being a natural by-product), in the collective experiance of me and my friends, your actual weight is counterproductive to both of these.

Dipper
10-10-12, 02:51 PM
If you find it hard to motivate yourself with the cycling thing then you could try a cycling club, there are sporty ones or if you want a more social type there is CTC, they usually have local weekly runs which anyone can join in, the pace is steady and it's not all blokes:D

10-10-12, 05:42 PM
Right guys I'm stuck babysitting now all night, no chicken no fish, plenty off whole meal bread, beans spaghetti and eggs, what should I have? Beans on toast? Or 3 scrambled eggs on 2 whole meal toast bit of flora butterly spread?

Spank86
10-10-12, 05:45 PM
I'd go with the beans, too much protein is as bad as too much anything else and I'd say 6-8 eggs a day is overdoing it a little.

gruntygiggles
10-10-12, 06:21 PM
Don't overdo the eggs, as said, 4 in the morning is too much...check out how much cholesterol there is in an egg!

Beans or spaghetti on toast will be perfect!

Wideboy
10-10-12, 06:37 PM
it certainly is, egg yokes are full of cholesterol. Eggs are a good source of protein but fattening, weight lifters will eat the egg white and leave the yokes to keep the fat off, So if you like eggs that much buy some egg whites only.

also rice cakes, nothing to them and they will keep hunger pains at bay. wholegrain is good for just about everything in your body.

Don't fall for all this healthy smoothy/fruit juice culture going round aswell, yes they are packed with fibre and vitamins but because it takes some many fruit pieces to make the drink they usually have a higher sugar level than most fizzy drinks so just eat the fruit instead.

also you more likely to loose weight and build muscle if you have a good level of whole grain and vitamins inside you as well as keeping hydrated, all the basic things your body needs.

when i was lifting i used to start my day off with porridge and fruit for breaky, wholegrain bread sandwiches and crackers at lunch, fruit for mid afternoon snack and tea was a good filling home cooked meal. Protein was supplemented throughout the day to aid muscle build and recovery.

but i don't do it any more as i don't have the time, might get back into it over winter, it is a good and proven way to loose fat and build muscle with very little aerobic work.

joshwalker094
10-10-12, 07:48 PM
well spaghetti on toast it was. i might try go on a bike ride at 6:30am before work,
think porridge with skimmed milk for brekkie, and ham/lettuce on wholemeal bread for lucnh with an apple for a snack .

If you are cooking your eggs without the use of saturated fats, it actually isn't too bad, but you should be looking at averaging an egg per day...so 7 across a whole week.

Too much of even a good thing can be bad for you.

The recommendation used to be 2 a week, but it has since been understood that's whilst eggs do contain a lot of cholesterol, especially in the yolk, the danger is mainly in the fact that are usually cooked using some form of saturated fat. Most nutritionists will now say up to 7 a week, more if you only have the whites. Just be careful how you cook them :-)

Ah okay, didn't think it'd be down to cholesterol, thought it might be some other warning I'd missed! (luckily the simpsons alerted me to the cholesterol situation) - I'd read they contain 'good' cholesterol that actually lowers 'bad' cholesterol.

She ain't the one I agree. I'm not even gonna bothered messaging her. She was trying it on for an hour or two but she can get lost! The stupid drunk, she couldn't even remember the first half of the night.

Just cease all contact if she's messing you about (which she clearly is) and tell her to **** off and use someone else if she turns up at your door, life's too short. You need to be cruel to be kind, to yourself.

why the feeb did you let her in?

if your not going to introduce the captain to the pie then simply tell her to go jump in some one mugs bed and **** off, then slam the door in her face. job done.

she's a pleb and a user, she clearly doesn't care about your feelings so why even give her the time of day? let alone be her friend.

Can't even have a quick nap as I'll wake up to early. I text her before saying hope she had a safe journey and enjoys herself whilst visiting her gran ( I hope she said gran, could of been aunty), and hopefully speak soon.

Not text back or anything so Fack her!!
Thanks for the replys people

Seriously mate, you aren't going to move on anywhere if you're quite happy to keep her as a friend when she ain't p1ssed.

Nothing wrong with bring friends with exs when it doesn't work out, provided they aren't users - because if they are they'll use that friendship as an excuse to use you again.

Been there, done it, learnt the lesson.

Or as others have said. If she's happy to use, then play her at her own game, get what you can, and don't feel guilty about it.

The way I see it there are two ways to go about it, and no middle ground that doesn't see you fetting fecked in the head.

Stop thinking, stop worrying.

Bothering yourself about people texting back will just do your head in (thanks though, you just reminded me I forgot to text a mate back from about 2 days ago!) there's too much **** going on in the world to over analyse tiny little things like that.
Same with worrying if it was her Gran or Aunty, you're obviously a nice chap the thought was there - that's all that counts - most blokes wouldn't even think it let alone say it they'd just fart and open a beer. Then maybe after a few text her on the off chance she's naked or even better inclined to get naked and nearby.
