View Full Version : Brake light pressure switch?
Can anyone explain how I fit or use one please?
I;ve got DanMoto ones at the moment but these feelcheap and nasty and want to swap for something a bit more robust. But have no idea on the pressure switch thing for rear brake.
Going to get the GB Moto ones £150 but only as I know they guys.

Linky to these GB moto ones? I cant help with the pressure switch thing, but kinda glad you commented on the Danmoto ones, i was after them myself.
Guess not now though
I have got both a pressure switch or 'brake light switch' for a GB Moto rearset and some second hand rearsets for sale.
Someone else posted this elsewhere:
(Assuming the brake side originals have been removed)
1) Replace the banjo bolt (the top most bolt on the master cylinder) with your new banjo bolt pressure switch.
3) Use wire cutters to cut the end of the stock brake light switch and then use those same cutters to strip the tubing off so that you have access to the copper wire.*
4) Take the copper wire from each section and spin it or however you like to keep it straight.
5) Use pliers to squeeze the copper connectors together and then connect it to the wiring from the stock wires before attaching the wiring to the pressure switch.*
6) Turn on the battery (do not turn over), apply rear brake to test connection.
7) If necessary use electrical tape to cover any exposed wiring including the new banjo bolt before bleeding the brakes etc and re-assembling rearsets.
* I can't remember if the GB Moto ones require splicing and dicing or if they have a ready made connector (will check later) but the principle is the same. Its fairly straightforward to do.
Here are the used rearsets for sale along with some other items:

These are the GB Moto ones. Dan Moto are really comfy but the very long gear selection rod bent after only a 100 miles. Seems to long and too soft for the job. They are sending my a new one. Think I'll sell them and get the GB ones instead.

Think I might just have that pressure switch off you. The rear sets I'll have to buy almost the whole lot. Thanks but I'll get brand new ones instead.

If you're getting it direct from GB Moto they do supply the pressure switch (not to kill my own sale or anything ;))
the pressure switch usually comes with bullets on them or at least mine did. i can make up 'gender changers' to save you hacking the bike loom or old brake light switch.

I had to buy a new pressure switch from gb moto recently for my rearsets, very good service from them. Mine had no connectors of any sort just bared ends for crimps of my choice. was about £12.
