Anyone know what this Icon means?

Looks like a battery in the middle, its always there even when being charged.
What phone is it? I'm, guessing you don't have a manual to look in and check the symbols?

It means slide the back off and roll the batteries round with your palm like when the tv remote starts to play up/needs new AAAs :D
I found this link:

It's battery saving mode. When I lock the screen on my Xperia T the wifi and data connections are disabled to save power.

power save I'd say.
xperia U uses a rev counter like icon
Sony call it "STAMINA mode".
Prolongs battery life by switching off networking when the screen is off.
It also has the rev counter icon for battery saving mode, which is when the battery gets low and it disables some functions.
You can set both by going into settings and Power management.

Its the Mrs' phone, it is a Xperia T. So she has been randomly hitting things in settings, as I suspected. :-D

It means that a robotic octopus is trying to harvest your battery power, and you should leave the premises.
Jelly bean mini game. Click settings then find about phone. Tap this 5 times and a little jelly bean appears. Leave this on the screen and little jelly beans appear to throw around the screen. Works on other Android versions too.
