PRICE REDUCED TO £2,400
OK - so I'm going to regret this.....I've decided I'm going put my beloved SV up for sale so I can get another bike. I wanted to keep it and get another bike, but can't justify 2 - as the missus pointed out, I can't ride both at once :(
I've owned the bike from new and details are as follows (bad bits first):-
Registered total loss Category D in Feb/March 2009 after a low speed accident, where someone turned across me from traffic lights in Manchester city centre - thread here (http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?p=1781432#post1781432). The guy at the insurers (who also happened to be a forum member) said I could choose to have him repair it or write it off with the prospect of buying it back...I chose the latter. Damage was fairings, aftermarket exhaust was dented, levers, indicators and gear change pedal.
Bike has done around 6 track days (Oulton, Mallory, Cadwell and Anglesey x 3), dropped once on track (1st trackday), where the damage was mostly scuffed fairings/R&G bungs and levers. Mike (Flymo) saved the day by giving me a spare lever and I rode it home. Thread here (http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?p=2042514#post2042514).
It's been blown over by the wind once or twice, damage restricted to the odd broken lense/scuffed bar end.
All in all, no structural damage at all.
43,700 miles on the clock.
FSH upto and including 15k service, after which, I refused to pay big money for oil & filter change - especially after the dealer failed to replace all the plugs, leaving the ones he couldn't be bothered with. Serviced by myself/Yorkie Chris thereafter and also had the odd bit of help from Flymo, replacing the valve stem seals when it started the bad habit of smoking - thread here (http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?p=2711044#post2711044).
As she stands now, she's well looked after, gets spoiled rotten, but sadly has to make way for something different.
If there's no interest, I'll probably keep her and try and persuade the Doris to let me keep 2 bikes. I would probably get more breaking it, but can't be bothered with the effort involved.

I have - but would need to put it back on the engine if I sold the CNC one. It's straight with no dings, but the paint has corroded near the water pump outlet.

Yep. . Basically I need enough cash to put towards another bike which I have lined up, so whilst I don't need everything sold, I'd like the major bits gone. I'll update the other post to reflect your dibs on the pegs.
Still looking like you're breaking the bike then? Shame, I'd have this off you at the end of August if you could hold out.

Yes mate. I'll update the list when I'm at a pc rather than the phone. The person who posted just before you has dibs on the spare bracket but if they don't want it it's yours. Failing that you can have dibs on the one that's on the bike if it does get broken. At the moment there's not enough interest to make it worthwhile.
I was asking on behalf of waygoodr to help out so please go ahead and allow the sale to him
Thanks

Hi guys - thanks for the interest so far, parts and prices are as per post #10.
I've had some interest in the bike as a whole and am holding out to sell it in one piece as, although I'll get less in the long run, it saves on a whole heap of hassle and effort.
If it hasn't gone by the end of this month then I'll look to start breaking it.

remove your profile pic of you racing it around a track, maybe that will help.

21-08-13, 07:04 AM
Why? I've been completely honest in the description, where I state it's been on trackdays and even had a spill. Pointless being anything other than honest with people (IMO).
If it bothers people that it's not in pristine condition and has had the odd scrape, that's fine. If someone does buy it, at least they can take comfort in the fact that they know the history and if someone does buy it, they'll be getting a damn good bargain considering the upgrades alone would come out at near the asking price.
Thanks for your input.
And not forgetting the fact it's got a Cat D against it, which we all know is nothing...but puts so many people off.
Mark-SV-UK
21-08-13, 11:02 AM
I would still buy it if I didnt have mine already track days dont bother me and as said it does state cat d so I think thats as truthful as you can be really. I love this bike and it will deff be a shame if it does get broken up

Alternator cover was powder coated and the clutch/crankcase cover and water pump were rubbed down, primed and hammerite applied.
They've lasted better than the stock paint lol.
Nobby,
Sorry, not sure if you've answered this, the top box rack? Could you provide some more details about that? possibly pictures? Having to sell my Givi Rack as it attaches to the pillion footpegs which have since gone AWOL and am therefore thinking of an alternative. Please get back to me

In my opinion, they're the best looking rack, hence me getting one for the bike.
Givi arms are useful, but look carp in comparison (in my opinion), however they are cheaper I think.
Is yours for a Givi? that be the case you may have a sale here my friend.
My givi box ordinarily fits the Givi Specific Monorack '03/'07 and if you're prepared to sell the adapter hardware pictured then ill b happy to buy that off you for the asking price :)
PM me if thats the case please
------------------------------------
Additionally I agree with you about the rack arms being useful but not great, too much hassle to fit/remove and scratches some paint if its not done properly

Price reduced to £2,250
:(
Still not prepared to sell the givi rack hardware seperate?
Nobbylad
11-01-14, 07:41 PM
Price reduced to £2,400 which is what I'd previously agreed with Rapidman17 (Zain), only for him to let me down repeatedly, even after we'd agreed the sale and I'd made a gesture of buying new oil, filter and iridium plugs.
So, if you're interested in the bike, let me know. I'd previously reduced it to £2,250 but that was going to be with a Penske 8983 (2-way race shock) fitted, instead of the 8987 (3-way) that is currently on.
I've just sold the 8983, so the bike will come with the 8987 on it and new filter, Motul oil and 4 x brand spanking new NGK Iridium plugs.
I've just bought another bike and need to get rid of this one before I get tempted to race it in Supertwins...which I definitely cannot afford! :D
Hia
I'm tempted at that price. I'm looking to shift my Triple next week as I just can't bare to see it take any more of a winter battering and succumb to the woes and dangers of riding around the City. So if it doesn't shift by then, I'll be in touch.

Whooops! Sorry fella, I've read that list so many times, I can't see the wood for the trees.
Unfortunately I sold the Blue Flame a while ago (think there was a separate thread on here).
However the CCC exhaust is available....it's a special offer at the moment where you buy the can and get a fully sorted bike for free! (Can is £2,400) ;)

Me neither, winter wasn't the best time to advertise it I guess. Gonna start marketing it more soon.
