I was just wondering what you guys thought of RST stuff.
Last year I bought my first lot of bike clothing. I bought RST gloves, Paragon III textile jacket and jeans/trousers
First, the stitching came away from the valcro on the gloves. Replacement sent, different model of glove, still RST. Whilst the stitching is in tact, the valcro has hardly any stick.
Jeans worn in the crotch, buckle came off the front. Also replaced.
Zipping up my jacket this morning, only goes up half way, so I take a closer look and the zip is coming away!
So 4 pieces of RST stuff, 3 returns and 1 not too happy with quality. I do look after things I buy, especially when it cost nearly £400 in all.
Have I been unlucky or is this typical RST crap quality?

i'd say you've been unlucky pal, i have had my rst 2 piece leathers for over 18 months and had 2 crashes on them and there is nothing but a scrape, the zips work perfectly and is all intact :)

My rst leathers have been great, survived an argument with a car door and the Tarmac and only minor scuffing. The boots on the other hand are ****e - only 18 month old and half of left sole is hanging off!!

Really happy with my 2 piece leathers and my boots are fine too (only had them 6 months though)
Had my Tractech boots for over a year, they've got some minor wear like the red piping around the RST logo coming off the sole but apart from that they've been spot-on and survived two offs perfectly. I've also got a Slice leather jacket, textile jacket & leather trews, nothing to complain about yet but these are a bit younger than the boots and yet to have an off.
Some items are fairly 'cheap' when compared to some manufacturers so I wouldn't expect them to last forever...but it's nice when they do!

Brought my rst pro series two piece leathers ad tractech boots at the Nec last November so they have only had one summers usage but so far they seem good quality

I have rst textiles. The trousers are textile with leather panels where it matters... Generally pleased with them however the inner has ripped. The textile jacket is fantastic. Really pleased with it. Not let me down yet and has all the features I would want.
I ordered rst tractech boots but it appears I hav cankles... Cos couldn't get them zipped passed my ankle :(
But I love my sidi ones all the same :)

Aye my boots are tractech. Definitely wont be buying them again!!
Recently bought the Slice 2 piece leathers, so far very happy with them with no issues but they are my weekend gear so don't get that much use, I have another set of leathers which are less figure hugging I use for getting to work so I can wear my jeans under them.
When I was looking at my first proper gear, I was advised that RST have been given the nickname rip shred tear, due to the quality not being very good. That was 2 years ago, so may have changed, but sounds like it hasn't.

I used an RST textile jacket. It was as budget as jackets get but it saw me through 2 low speed offs (one of which was best described as "Klinsman") and the textiles came away with little more than minor scrapes. The finish however is a bit crap. Before the offs the stiching which held down the Velcro strips on the wrist was hanging off by a stitch or two. Though anoyingly i couldnt remove it entirely to reattach/re-position it. Also the main zip failed when the little solid plastic bit at the base of the zip came off.
Jacket was suprisingly warm with the lining inand cool with the lining out.
in short: Materials seemed good for the budget price paid - though the finish on zips/velcro was cheap and eager to fail. No idea what their leather stuff is like.
My RST ventilator trousers let in a lot of water when I was caught in a downpour. It was really hammering down though.

-1 from me.
I bought RST jack & trousers last year and think they are generally ***p. The finish is very poor and had lots of small failures with stitching etc.

I had tracktech boots and the zip went. My textile slice jacket is absolutely bombproof! Also i replaced my tracktech boots with some rst waterproof ones and there also of good quality. My gloves have also come away at the velcro but i think thats lesson learned from rustling through a bargain bin! I ride every day through all weathers and can only reccommend the jacket and the boots!

+1 from me.
I have RST tractech evo 1 piece and it's lovely, fits really well & finish is good.
I also have RST tractech gloves for this season which i haven't worn yet & RST stunt textile jacket which is really good, it's had a fair amount of use and no problems to report.
Replaced my RST ventilator gear for Wolf touring textiles which is the same company. Not worn them in the rain yet but they are nice and warm in the cold.
Seen 1st hand RST Boots involved in accident - will never buy a pair !!!
They fell to piece's like a pair of market trainers, offered little protection for the guy's foot & ankle.
Are any of the RST jackets more suited to a crouch position.
My HG jacket seams to open were the Velcro flap part is (thers not enough only 3 strips )resulting in a soaked belly this morning.
Coupled that with a split set of trousers I'm mighty damp this morning (but in a bad way)

Looks like they are discontinued
Does it include the crash diet
Dont buy food, then you'll both fit into them and have the spare cash, win win :)
