Hi Guys,

Been having a go at syncing my carbs but using a mates own made manometer i believe has knocked them out of sync worse to the point where the bike isn't starting. I have managed to borrow some proper mechanical gauges to get them sync'd but the screw is well out.

Is there a default position i can put the screw to just to get it up and running again.

Just so you know the bike only stopped running when i started messing with the sync screw. Which way when screwing it increases and decreases vacuum?

Thanks in advance.

Si

have you been turning up/down the idle screw while you are adjusting the vacuum?

Best way to get them basically close is to back the idle stop right off so the butterflies should both be fully closed. With the screw backed off, adjust the balancing adjuster so they are both as near as you can tell going fully closed, check this by looking into the intakes (lift the slides as necessary, don't drop anything in there!). You can usually feel when the butterfly "bottoms out" if you are careful.

Then adjust the idle stop screw up a bit and it should be close enough to get you started.

How have you got the rear cylinder connected up to the gauges?
