Cheers for the heads up on the Yaw/Roll keys shift, works a treat, just got to chop off my left middle finger as i keep throttling up all the time (muscle memory sucks sometimes).

HOTAS? Maybe when they are back in stock for the thrustmaster x but still farting about in the trsining missions for now because of 16 hour days at work, tho come the weekend i might get an hour or 3 spare

I got bored of the trading so I just sold my transporter and put some upgrades on the Viper and went shooting.

Still need to learn my controls especially for FSD interdicting others. Can't seem to "fire" it when I want.
I set it to a 2nd fire group on button 1 but seems I have to hit my right mouse button to use it??

After selling the Type 6, I bought another Hauler......Yes a hauler!

The type 6 was awful to fly and I found the short run trading not so rewarding.

So I bought the hauler again and stripped it out and installed 16 cargo slots.
Max jump of 24lys and with 16tonnes about 16lys.

So I'm back trading rares and I find it much more rewarding even tho its not the most efficient method.

Anyway some strange things happened in space tonight, after returning from a rare run, I sold off my two types of cargo and made 240k, only to find I still had 5 cargo slots filled with Illegal narcotics??? uh?

My laptop is off being fixed :( bought in December and now suffering from an iffy display, which will come back briefly after suspend/unsuspend

In ED I now have Type-7, Asp and Cobra, all A rated ;)

I stuffed 4 turret beams on the T7, if anyone interdicts me and I target them they get a hammering whilst I run away lol

When the new ships come in 1.2 the Cobra will likely be replaced with a Vulture!

Just got Cities Skylines the other day. It's a bit like sim city. Seems pretty good so far. Making the traffic work when the city gets bigger is tricky

I just couldnt wait any longer, the due date for final release keeps moving back...I got a DK2 and it's not bad at all, worth the money getting s/h (I paid £260 for as new s/h), not sure I could justify the £400 or thereabouts for brand new...

Takes some fiddling but runs good on my laptop 970m gfx, the biggest issue I have is with getting used to a Hotas after using the KB/M for so long...still messing with the controls and with voice attack...

Not played more than 6 hours on it so far though, not got the time right now...but I don't regret buying it, just takes some time to get right and getting used to

Why can't you use KB/M kaivalagi?

Has anyone got GTA5 on pc? My fps seem very low when driving fast. Very juddery. That's with a 3GB card

Its very hard to locate all the keys with a vr headset on, voice attack helps but it's still not enough really

Project Cars any good?

I can't quite bring myself to pull the trigger and buy "Ride." I feel guilty!:pale::p

A PS-a-whit-noo!!!!???

Actually same here. We will just whisper then. :)
Stumped up for a 1tb and Witcher3. And W3 ain't blowing my socks off. 20-30hrs in. Feels like I have seen all this before. Thought I better have a stab at it before "The One" (Fallout 4 innit!?)

Anyway P/Cars has a Capri and a Cossie and an Escort. Plus Cadwell,Snetters and Donnie. My resistance is fading.:pale:

I've done 20 hours on Ride and I still enjoy having a go now and then.

Even on a well specced PC the graphics are stuttery, (The FPS count is 100+) so it can be annoying.

But I enjoyed learning donnington park on it, even if there are some differences between the game and RL!

I'll take a look at Project Cars if it has Cadwell, been waiting to play that track in any game for ages!

And away at a tangent.
Spent the Amazon voucher on Metro Redux.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is in my top 5 of all time even though I never completed it due to a horrible crash bug.

Some of the same fellas involved. Some of the same bleak atmosphere.

Never played the originals and have been enjoying the large free demos of the remaster. Just over £17 for the 2 game package.

Last night's rollout of Ed Horizons went in without a hitch, well worth it. I've been playing it through the beta and its a nice beginning to planetary landings....

Already got an Imperial Cutter too ;)

You should have bought the lifetime pass when it was available! Money well worth spending....

I'm really in to GTA again at the moment. Haven't played JC3 or BO3 for ages

kaivalagi
26-03-16, 12:29 PM
I'm getting into Guildwars 2 now, there's a free to play version with 2 character slots....the heart of throne pack then unlocks a bunch of stuff after that...

Also playing a bit of The Division (I got the season pack for £50 all in), but I've had my fill of it at the mo...only level 16 but feeling like I've done enough for now.....I don't do grinding to top level etc, not my thing

I'm paying Elite Dangerous too....just an hour here or there to help expand our player system and get to trading elite...

Thinking about getting The Witcher 3 too....I like playing lots of games with a little time on each so things dont get stale

Kenzie
26-03-16, 01:28 PM
What is the Division like? Been looking at this for a while now.

kaivalagi
27-03-16, 09:11 AM
It's okay, more of an RPG than a FPS type game...looting/crafting/missions....can;t fault the game just not sure I'll get as much out of it as some....I'm not one for playing a game hard until I level up the most I can etc and that's what the game is centered around really.....I prefer more of a sandbox type game where I do what I want etc...

Son bough Doom.
Unfortunately the mobo is a bit lacking
So need to up grade from the old AMD Bulldozer to something else....

kaivalagi
26-06-16, 12:37 AM
Trouble is with that upgrade it's likely the mobo, ram and cpu.....you could go for an skylake i5 with 16gb 2133MHz ddr4 ram to save a bit, but put it into a decent mobo so you can get better CPU and Ram later if wanted (I have an ASUS Z170-A and can't really complain, loads of features for the price)

NTECUK
26-06-16, 07:13 PM
Was looking at MOBO combo up grade's and bare bones like this,
http://www.novatech.co.uk/barebonebundles/view/bb-63008f.html

kaivalagi
26-06-16, 09:06 PM
Do you need a new case and PSU?

There are motherboard bundles out there....could have got a very decent bundle with water cooler and doom for £380: https://www.scan.co.uk/products/asus-z170-k-motherboard-intel-i5-6600k-cpu-corsair-8gb-ddr4-(3000oc)-ram-cm-seidon-120v-v2-aio-water

NTECUK
26-06-16, 09:22 PM
Well case not a deal breaker.
PSU 9month old a corsair's semi modular PSU so that is fine
So yes a mob and new faster ram and CPU is the main thing.

kaivalagi
26-06-16, 11:23 PM
The above is providing an up-to-date 1151 socket mobo which can be upgraded against over the next few years, the price might seem a little steep when compared against some options but it's a good compromise for future upgrades.

The next alternative is going with the previous generation 1150 socket mobo supporting older cpu models and ddr3 memory, it will still perform well today and will be quite a bit cheaper but you'd need another upgraded mobo later on....

NTECUK
27-06-16, 08:15 AM
Um well it's a water cooler system that makes me twitchy.
But then it's not unproven and I guess you can add two GPU coolers for the nvidias.

kaivalagi
27-06-16, 12:07 PM
I have the same water cooler, it's okay, sealed unit....

You still need some cooling fans for the case you put it in, to get air moving for the gpu/memory/other cards etc, I assume the gpu has it's own fans fitted too?

ethariel
27-06-16, 05:45 PM
Noooo don't go for that case, look at something a bit better and you will see a huge difference. I dithered around budget cases for years till I finally settled for a Fractal R5, it's a pleasure to work with, totally modular and enough slots for fans/radiators to cool a battleship.

You have a decent enough PSU for a single graphics card setup so no issues there, just hold out for a 1070's before investing in a graphics card, Titan performance for so much less.

For fans always keep a positive pressure in the case (but not too much or you will end up with hot spots. I'm running 2x 140mm front and a 120mm bottom intake with 2x140 exhaust (rear and top) plus the graphics card exhaust. System ambient is rerely higher than the room temperature.

For CPU cooler, a poor Sealed Unit liquid with a small radiator will never work well, a 300mm radiator will be overkill (but thats not bad) although I stuck with a Noctua NHU-14S and that cools my i5 OC'd from 3.9 to 4.6 stable, rarely goes over 65 degrees.

My "small" gaming pc is an alienware steam machine I reformatted to run win10. The steam controller is probably the most comfortable I've ever used. (I've had or played every Playstation model + most Xbox)
