hey all

my battery has died and i need another one

i pulled the current battery out and its a BS Battery BT12A (https://bs-battery.com/bt12a-bs/)

It's dimensions are:

Length (mm) 150
Width (mm) 88
Height (mm) 105

ive had a look at other batteries like MotoBatt MBTX12U and Yuasa YTX12-BS and their dimensions show the height as 130mm.

Will these fit on my bike without modification? its a SV650s Pointy 2010.

wondering if the previous owner fitted a small sized battery?

thanks

Both the batteries you listed will be fine. I'm almost positive (bad pun) the dead battery is the wrong size

Some makers seem to give height measured over top of posts and others (IIRC) to top of case moulding.

Good choice, many years of trouble free use ahead.

:)

Ive also read these YTX12-BS are also AGM but they dont state this on the label, but it says on the datasheet

https://www.yuasa.co.uk/yuasa/datasheet/index/sku/YTX12-BS/

either way, got my CTEK charger ready :)

Yeah, don't know why label does not have AGM on it, as it is a big selling point. AGM are ideal for bikes due to good cranking amps and vibration resistance and no leakage or maintenance required. AGM also have very low self discharge and are resistant to sulphation so can be left for long periods without use if needed and will not degrade as much as flooded type battery.
