Popped down to Clacton to go for a wander and to test out the Pen EPL-3 I grabbed, rather cold but clear.

The Bike after yesterdays ride. The lower half was caked in Mud - front of the engine, front spotlights, header pipes, whole exhaust, swing arm, rear light, numberplate etc etc.
It took a good hour just to get the mud off (although i did let it sit overnight)

Tbh, you could probably park it by just letting it fall over in the road and it wouldn't look any worse. The only danger might be that it would be mistaken for a pile of scrap metal and cleared away.

There doesn't seem to be much meat around the steering head to support that rake ....
This isn't my pic, but last summer I was chatting to the owner of this XJ900-based rat at the Lake Cafe by Llyn Tegid: he bought it as an insurance write-off and just started playing with it, basically.

Very nice (but a massive beak over the front wheel and a cut short front mudguard that could do with a fender extender !- I don't understand some of these motorcycle designers )
A fender extender is already incoming! There's money to be made for them on selling the solutions to the problem they make . . . . . ;)

:) yes, but these things are often aftermarket parts by companies like Pyramid Plastics ,not BMW !
Sometimes not, due to the cost/investment vs the return. Other parts they do make/source and sell as BMW (radiator guards, engine bars, light protection, etc)

Ma and pa-in-law used to go with a bunch of their mates each year as one of them used to row for Shrewsbury School. It's right on our doorstep (ish) but we've never actually been. The traffic can be a nightmare so when I know its on I generally avoid the area.

We didn't, officially, which was a shame. I love the 'street scrambler' style, especially the Suzuki and Kawasaki 250 variants.
I always fancied the Suzuki Stinger, a 125 twin. Similar concept with upswept pipes.

They are fantastic-looking machines. I don't know if you read Classic Motorcycle Mechanics, but one of the contributors recently finished a decade-long restoration of a Stinger.
Unlike a lot of other Japanese bikes from the 70s (and Suzukis in particular, which shared lots of parts between models) almost everything on the Stinger is unique to it, which makes reviving them an almost impossible (and very expensive) task because of the short model run and lack of spares availability.

I'm not surprised though it does look very different to other Suzuki models at the time.

I rode a Suzuki Stinger in my teens. It seemed slower than my Honda CB175 and my friend's Yamaha AS1. No noticeable powerband at all, unusual for a two stroke.
Rumours are that Honda are bringing back the CL model range, starting with the CL500. "Young Machine" are a Japanese website with a good record of accurately predicting Honda's forthcoming models.

Outside the Raven caff near Whitchurch, this is what you do with your sidecar racing outfit when you give up racing: stick some lights on it!
It's an early 80s Ireson racing chassis with a Suzuki GS1000 motor, with Wiseco big-bore kit, flat-slides and other tuning goodies. Sounded absolutely vicious when he fired it up (his son was the passenger).

Been meaning to upload some pics from my camera. Found this one on there that I had meant to share a few weeks ago. It flew off just after I took this so I was quite lucky.
Peregrines are often found atop cathedrals, it's a lot safer if they're way up high, but this one was on the pretty low to the ground All Saint's Church right in the centre of High Wycombe. When the adult birds fly in to feed the chick the little one makes one hell of a racket - not exactly subtle! I noticed them early one Saturday waiting for my dry cleaner's to open, who are only 50 yards or so from the church. When I quized the shop owner he said he hadn't even noticed them and had no idea what they were... I came back the following Saturday with the 70-350 and got this. They've flown now but I'll keep an eye open next year, that's for sure!

It is a good moody pic.
Looks like Mabel has had a long day and kicked her shoes off
Ha ha - I was wondering about the shoes too.

They're Eleri's dancing clogs. Beautifully made Welsh style by Trefor Owen from Criccieth, who unfortunately no longer makes them as he's retired.

The first pair The wife had were made by Trefor, He was based in Wath on Derne near Rotherham. Went and fetched them whilst I was on strike tback in the early 80s. Can remember thinking ' is this a good idea' at the time. They were over £40 then. The soles did not last long though. He did resole them but the fit was never quite the same - looked the part though. Saw a chap from Manchester way making clogs at a festval they looked good but cannot remember his name unfortunately. Hope your daughter sticks at it!

Both my twin daughters have been clogging since they were about 10. Always had clogs from Trefor, I think 2 or possibly 3 pairs each.
Yes, there is a youngish guy in England now making Welsh clogs. Trefor knows his name so I must ask him.

This is from the Blackberry Fair back in 2013. My girls are on at 8m.56s. They were just 11 then, so early days for them.
