View Full Version : Suspension bearings???
Got some play from the lever cushion (pic below) and I need to replace the bearings and spacers (all the bits maked green)
Going OEM will cost me £77.74 from the local dealers
I've got the bearing measurements from the fiche so can i get the bearings from else where and if so where?

Check the bearing on the underside of the swingarm while you're doing that lot.
IIRC it's the same as the ones in the centre of the linkage.

Looks like no one i can find does the bearings in the size needed for the linkage (1x 20x27x30, 2x 20x27x23.5, 1x 12x20x32), i think OEM is the only way to goes or get them made by someone for more then OEM prices

I have just changed my rear shock absorber (Öhlins) and I did take a look at the bearing in the sving and the rear cushion lever (part 3, Chassis 6-37)
Under the sving arm KOYO BKM 2024JAU 2pcs
Dogbone side KOYO BKM 2024JAU 2 pcs
Frame fixing point KYO BHKM 1726 JUU
Raer Shock absorber fixing KOYO BKM 2030 JUU
It is just to take this number to a company who sales bearings and they should be able to help, it dosen't have to be KOYO since all the bearing manufacturers uses the same number for a certen bearing.
Let me find a picture of the parts and I will write in the bearing numbers.
PS. Don't have the number for the sving main bearings.
I will check with at my work what the price is.

Afternoon folks.
Be carefull when ordering bearings by their number, as a fairly recent trick that the Raw fish eaters have come up with, is to fit a bearing with a standard number on it, that isn't a standard bearing! i.e. An R6 rear sprocket carrier bearing is marked 6206, only the centre hole is a different size to a standard 6206, so instead of being 8 or 9 quid the bleeder is around £24!!
Only this week a chap came in to me with the rear suspension arm from one of those Honda silver wings with a knackered bearing in it. It was marked 6204 but had a 2mm larger bore.
Bearing (bad pun) in mind that you'll need to replace the spacers along with the linkage bearings and these are o/e only it's often not woth faffing around to save a couple of quid.
Cheers.
My Sv has only done 11,000 miles and feels tight. At what milage are the rest of you replacing?

Cool beans I'll not worry for at least a few years then.

Depends how it's been kept and how it's been treated really. You could probably dry out the bearings in a few thousand miles if you tried hard enough with a power washer ;)
........... with a power washer ;)
Whats that then

It's what you get when you get a new bike and you're all enthusiastic about keeping it shiny, then after a month you crash it and crack the fairing, and suddenly you can't be bothered dragging the thing out of the garage.
You can also use it to blast half the paint off your 125's engine casing the day before someone comes to view it, so you have to spend the entire night polishing the bare metal.
