I have a confession.

I saw the title of the thread and then saw the poster and immediately assumed it was one of the following:

Tara announces undieing love to Falc (again)

Tara has given Falc a "dear John" via the org.

Falc has proposed and Tara has invited the org to the wedding.

Or something else that involves the wonderful saga of Tara & Falc.

Because of this I sort of skimmed past the post and did not read it. When it got to 5 pages I thought I had better check it out.

Going by the information provided, looks like it was one that could have turned very nasty indeed. Glad Falc is not more seriously injured. Here's hoping for a quick recovery

He does know that this was quite bad timing on his part with AR06 only 4 weeks away :?:

 i can see why you thought it might something to do with the romance bigape and i'm sure you weren't the only one

I must confess that I also fell into this catagory.... I decided to see what the fuss was about this afternoon.

Sorry Tara

I trust he mends well, and soon.

After spending many a night is a hospital with my father when he had heart problems, I know how it feels.

Might well be able to pop over tonight, depending what time I finish, likely be myself and the wife (Daphne on the forums as well).

I will drop you a PM to confirm, not on the bike today as I over sleeped and used the cage, do you need anything, magazines etc?

If he has a reasonably new laptop or PC then you'll need to look for a slot on the side or back labelled "SD / SC" stick the memory card in that. Alternatively he'll have a USB cable that will link the PC to the Laptop.

No problem, it was our pleasure, assuming Falc has not eaten them already there where some chocolate there for you and a magazine, we where not sure if you where staying there as well.

He was in good spirits but tried, fingers crosssed he comes home today, he would really benifit from being home, as he told us about the nutty patient that was running arround on a differnt floor that kept him up.

Keep us posted Tara, and if your still at the hospital tonight, if you need anything drop me a bell (you have my mobile number), and we can make a detour for you in the everning.

Wow, what a response I dont know where to begin apart from the obvious thankyou for all the well wishes and good luck. I Guess I'll start at the top!

I was just leaving work on a friday afternoon, the road had stationary traffic so decided to take the bus lane on the left keeping to the left of the lane. Taking it steady along this bus lane, up ahead was a slight gap between two trucks, anyway I just carried on and as i drew nearer out of nowhere a truck had turned through this gap and into my path, It was so quick and I tried to steer out of the way but he got me on the side. I was conscious but found breathing difficult but the hospital was 5 mins down the road so the ambulance was pretty quick but when you feel like you cant breath and lying there in pain 5 minutes feels alot longer.

In hospital they diagnosed me with eight broken ribs from 2-9, a bruised lung and a minor pneumothorax (which didnt need surgery thank god) besides that the suit did its job, my right leg was bruised and my shoulder was too. My lid took a beating and big chunks were missing and the bike...well the bike is a bit broken by all accounts, some pictures below that my dad took.

Hospital was eventful, the mad guy who was let loose in the ward and all I could do was lay in my bed and move my bed up or down! The food was not great but hey i got food packages from home including a great sandwich from my T :D

On the last day I was sitting there reading my book and looked across the ward, another biker had been hit in an almost similar way but this time by a car but his injuries were far worse. He had a broken leg and pelvis and would indure a long time healing his first accident in 13years. I do think myself lucky when I think back, If I was a bit later I could of gone straight into the truck head first or a whole collection of worse injuries or well you get the picture.
The nurse then came up and said her boyfriend rides bikes and said he just accepts the fact he can get hurt which we all do, but when it actually happens to you or someone close its an entrely different matter, so take a step back and really think about it as at the end of the day you may hurt yourself but your also hurting alot of other people too.

Thankyou to everyone here on the forum for you well wishes its really been appreciated, T would come in and tell me of what you say and really lifts you up, thanks alot guys. Special mention to Rich and his wife Anna for visiting me, couldnt laugh much as it hurt too damn much. Also Verna, Viney, Fizz, Nutty tart and DirtyDog for keeping my T sane oh and picking up the bike.
Sounds like an oscar award ceremony but it really does make a difference, my work colleagues sent texts and called as well as sending a get well bundle from the whole of the company.
Last and not least thankyou to my excellent family who have gone through hell knowing I was in pain at hospital and to my T who has been a rock next to me and kept me smiling and happy throughout it all (theres the mushy bit BigApe) she has been fantastic and love her to bits

The hospital report says bike vs lorry, how many people can say they got out of hospital in a matter of days and have that to their name.

A good account of the accident, an oscar winning speach and mushy bits

Dude, glad you are back home where you can now heal properly. Best place in my opinion. Especially with a Nurse such as Tara.

9 broken ribs  Well you nearly beat my record but seriously, stop trying, it hurts, as you now well know

Your excused for the mushy bit. This time only mind

Your accident just goes to prove that even when you think you are doing everything right to protect yourself whilst you ride, the possibility of serious injury is always exactly that, a possibility.

Best wishes and see you in a few weeks at AR06.

Hospital was eventful, the mad guy who was let loose in the ward and all I could do was lay in my bed and move my bed up or down!

You got one of those as well! One free with each biker. Good to see you back!

just back from picking up falcs bike (thanks to T, falcs dad and the security guard for giving me a hand to get it in and out of the van)

falcs damage is not too bad considering he picked a fight with a lorry
the SV on the other hand is worse than was first thought, unfortunately it's looking likely to be a write off   due to the damage to the head stock

Regarding your knee Falc, seriously, allegedly this cartilage repairing stuff is new, and really only used on athletes. (And, if pro cyclists use it, it has to be safe right :?)

But, it does work, if you have that sort of damage, it would do you no harm to look into it.

Again, PM me, I will remember to ask that guy about it.
