How often should I tighten the chain?

I ask only coz I've done it on the 'tona for the first time in 2,300 miles. It never seemed to need adjusting before. Bit fiddly too so I hope I don't have to do it again for a while.

Depends how much you ride and how heavy you are with the throttle and how well lubed etc your chain is.

I've done about 9000 miles on the GSXR now and I've never adjusted the chain.

Liz never adjusted the chain on her SV until the chain got into the last 500 miles of its life when it stretched badly and needed replacing.

We've both got Scotoilers which helps though.

Yep, as fizzy says, when it needs it.

You should expect to be adjusting them the most at the start of their life when they're bedding in from new, and towards the end (providong the sprockets don't wear first) when they're on their way out.
