Don't ride your bike! Or in my case, Doctor says, "don't ride your bike for several weeks"
Why? Flippin cruciate ligament injury that's why!
So there I am, fighting crime, protecting people  when a drink driver decides he doesn't want to stop, then runs off when he can't drive fast enough.
Running around Salford in the wee hours, my knee gave way, unfortunately for the lad, the Police dog didn't :D
Suffice to say, at least my knee injury won't leave visable scars (unlike the dog bites he suffered) 'cos I don't need an operation, but I am laid up for weeks, cursing all that is unholy and generally being very grumpy.
So, any miracle cures known out there on org land?
Unlucky fella.
So is the drunk being done for assaulting an officer with a deadly weapon? :D
Special tricks to get that knee working properly again? Hop around...

Doctor says, "don't ride your bike for several weeks"
My neighbour had an operation on her cruciate recently and the consultant says, "sell your bike".
So there really is always somebody worse off than yourself!
And I hope the toerag got a good shoeing to go with his bites...

Thought you had gone quiet. Get the knee sorted for the N/S
with the state of the roads in Salford, could you not claim your injury is due to the poor surface and sue the buggers. riding round there the other day it was dodge the pot hole
great ones are joining the slip road off the east lancs by the speed camera. then the whole lot round the Seedly park area.

I now what you mean about the roads Tim, but I don't really go in for the whole american "sue them all" culture, plus, I'm just a clumsy bugger at heart! ;)
Bet that smarts, matey!! Take cortisone and then do nothing for six months!!

Maybe you should just release the hostage and end it all!

Chin up mate you will be up and about in 2 months time. My surgeon reckons 18 months until my knee is good to go sports/riding wise and then with reduced function....oh the joy!

Hope your knee heals quickly, Pete. I always like when the dogs get to play, they seem to get away with more 'brutality' than PC's do. :D

Get ice packs on it, my other half has got 70% tear on his anterial crutial ligament, after a week of constant ice packs and pain killers he was back on his ZX7R (and smiling)

You need to build up the muscle to help suport the knee, cycling is good so is any exercise that will not jar the knee. no running, jumping etc. Swimming is very good...........

Please do not encourage Pete to wear his police issue cycling kit again. The sight of those man boobs is enough to make Richie very friendly. Oh guess who is sharing a 2 man room on the N/S?

Pete,
will u miss the N/S?
As far as the knee goes I think you will end up having an op. Yes you can build up the muscles around it but when the leg is straight it is upported only by the tendons. You will probably notice that it gives a way more and more often. For now try the ice packs. GWS.
