YC, probably around 92-95 I reckon? Still, when i did over 100, i didnt care about what it was in real money, its said 100 on my speedo and the first time that happened i was all giddy. A silly but important acheivment :D

Where did you tie the rope onto?

yeah they do the accelerated tests alot on ER5's, they did seem to around wolvo anyway

when i got to a tonne, it didnt really feel too exciting, it was late and i was on the M54 and it was completely empty, i cant really remember it too much to be honest

its all these welsh twistys, thats the best bit, i am still a beginner to good cornering though!

Does it have a snorkel/trumpet thing down the middle of it?

Well dont know what you mean by that but it goes straight down, i suppose trumpet?

Day off work today and I managed to get out for a few hours :)

I find that I am used to the top speed now and don't get the buzz from the acceleration as I did when I first got my SV. That said I love the bike.

However, I know I have a long way to go before I am anything more than a novice rider.

33bhp is fine at the moment but I'm only 7 mths into the 2yrs.

Right if it looks like the stock filter, with the plastic trumpet going down it, then no need to rejet, if you can see the filter material from the top of it, then it will more than likely be freer flowing and will need a rejet.

I just hope i dont get bored of my 33bhp quickly as i might be tempted to get rid of it. Which i dont want, as i want to be all legal

Yes, on the isle of man there were plenty private roads to play around on. Good fun, but IMO not worth the risks of running full power on UK public roads.

I put the sliders back in.

In the next few weeks I'll be chopping the guts out of a standard filter and rejetting to 152.5 mains, + a micron system :D

Could be interesting

When restricted does it rev a lot slower when accelerating?

yorkie_chris

You can't hear much difference in it free revving

But a restricted bike accelerates a lot slower.

After the 2 years how much do you think it would cost to get it de-restricted as i dont want to do it myself, lol, been told its easy but dont want the bike apart again after last time when it took me a whole day just to get to the front and rear cylinder lol

so did you guys get a garage to restrict your bike?

I ask I am now the proud owner of a curvy SV but need to restrict it - im looking for the best/cheapest way

when i bought the bike i arranged for themto do it

they were stingy buggers though, they wouldnt budge on the price much and charge 200 quid for the restrictor

The best way is with the FI international washers, I had them in for a couple of weeks and then got bored, coming up from an RS125 I probably only gained 3bhp on the SV. My restriction period has now ended though, so I'm legal again :)

Sometime over te next few weeks I'll be looking for somewhere to get washers to match the FI int. kits dimensions, will probably sell these for a fiver or so.

Best bet at the moment is to look for an FI kit from somebody whos done with it.
Easy to fit, don't worry about the certificate.
