View Full Version : Mother dies after refusing blood
Where are you going? I looked and there's nowhere in south wales :(
Have a look at the Welsh blood service:

They come to my work so I donate then.
I have a blood doning appointment on Wednesday. I hope that the NHS finds a good home for my red stuff. And if maybe one day I need some, then I shall be very glad to receive it and also very glad that somebody donated it.
O+ here. Everyone assumes that because it's the most common group that therefore the NHS has plenty of it. Not true - at present it's 4.64 days supply. Scary.

That's interesting, I think I'm O+ as well, not too sure, ages since I gave blood and I've lost those nice plastic blood cards they use, that says my group.
You can't give blood if you received blood.

The blood wagon is in work tomorrow for people to donate, i was gonna do it but they won't take mine at the moment because of my vaccinations i have to have for work. The research dept took a bit though last monday to play about with so i've done what i can for now.
selfish like all the people who
ride bikes and the people
who they leave behind
see its not selfish its a choice you make
she thought it wouldn't happen
to her like we do

So then a great way to chase off the JW's that come a calling at your door to thrust a copy of The Watchtower in your hand,is to simply inform them that you are a haemophiliac and you do not believe that their chosen religion offers enough for you?
A+ here.
I would have loved to give blood, but I've always been refused because I don't weigh enough. Under 7 and a half stone and they won't let you donate.:(

Nah, next opportunity grab half a dozen donor application forms and stash next to the door.
Then just offer to swap.

I saw this story and my first reaction was she is selfish and misguided. But then I thought if she had true faith in her religion then she made her choices a long time ago. You hardly have faith if you back out when things don't go your way - isn't that the definative test of your faith? I don't agree with what she did and yes, I think it is a stupid belief, but then I'm not a JW.
