Yes thats what it does, it advances the ignition in all gears equally, simply removes a fudge suzuki did to get through noise regs.

just had a look at that set of instructions, seems a piece of cake (and i have no experience what so ever)

just wondering, does it make any difference?

are there any other little mod tricks like this which are simple to do? have to say this was all brand new to me, didnt know TRE existed

TRE is really a piece of pi$$, I reckon I could do it in about 15 minutes in a reversible manner.
Other easy mods, filter, can, rejet. None of them are massively difficult and all add a bit, they won't make that much difference though.

You can do it without removing tank, fairing etc.

Just open the pillion seat, unplug the connector and chop the wires there.

(ok unplugging the connector is a PITA)

The big question is, is it worth fitting, how much should be paid for it and will screw my bike up? Will I notice any differnce by having one?

If there is a slightest chance it will harm bike, then I won't let one any near it!
