If it was me I'd still choose the £5 flasher unit over that, rather use resistors than paying £15 for one though!

I have not seen many cheap relays Dave. I'm waiting for M&P to come back with an answer on relays and price. The resistors I've seen (M&P and RG-racing) are 2.50 each.

wouldn't pay 2.50 for a resistor! I got my one from a local shop 'acme led flasher' - did the job

Re: Indicators

The problem with resistors is they dump all the heat a normal bulb would.

You can also get rid of the OEM relay in its entirety as its other function (sidestand cutout interlock) is completely pointless and a PITA waiting for an opportunity to go wrong.

I fitted the LED tip ones with a flash-it relay:

Pretty bright in my opinion, and they have the amber tip for better visibility from all angles... plus a piece of pi** to fit.

p.s same indy's on the front...

Re: Indicators

Great to see what they look like smdoyle.

Can you remember how much the relay was?

My friend who is going to fit them recommends not to cut the original 'loom' to put in another relay so the loom stays original and prefers the resistors. I think that makes sense so I'll probably go with that.

Did you have to use indicator spacers? or do they come with the indicators?

And same at front great, I was thinking shorter stalk ones front, did you get the longer or shorter stalks?

Re: Indicators

The rear ones look like the same as mine, the longer stalked version. they come as they appear (but with nut & spring washer).

Not sure if you can add a led flasher unit without interfering with the original loom?

Re: Indicators

M&P also advised that just the resistors would be fine no relay needed.

Without going downstairs I can't remember how my indicators are attached to the bike. But my friend said to find out whether I need spacers to cover the holes (he's only had faired bikes), something like these:

Did you use some?

Re: Indicators

The fronts require indy spacers which are £4.99 from Motrax, or most bikes shops: http://www.motrax.co.uk/index.php?mo...uct&id_prd=164

The Flash-it 'universal' relay is £19.99 from Motrax also or again most bike shops: http://www.motrax.co.uk/index.php?mo...uct&id_prd=162

The rears are bolted straight into the tail tidy but will unfortunately need to muck around with the original multi-relay which is under the seat. If I can remember rightly I think its the light blue to the black on the relay and brown to the red... Dont quote me on that though as I did mine a while ago... ;)

Thanks doyle, am passing it all on to my technical friend ;)

Might go to the shop tomorrow lunchtime as they do do motrax I think.
