I've got BT021's at the moment and they are a lot better than the Metz's (they wern't z6) that were on before. The Metz'z had that falling off a cliff feeling due to squaring of the rear, so maybe the perceved improvement was due more to the better profile on the new tyres than the tyres being better.

The BT021's don't give much confidence in the wet, they feel vague, in the dry I have no problems with them.

I'll be changing the front soon, but won't be getting another BT.

hey dude, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to sound negative.

If your tyres are old (>5yrs) they'll feel like muck. There should be a datestamp on the sidewall, a 4-digit number that shows the week (first 2 digits) and year (last 2 digits) of the tyre manufacture. Also maybe check the pressures.

I've had Conti Road Attacks on the SV and ZX9R; but also Dunlops and Pirellis. I've got Avons on the 954 Fireblade. They're all very good.

Whatever you get I'm sure you'll feel a huge difference to whatever you've got now. It happens to me every time I get new tyres.

Have they been left to stand for a long time (i'm guessing so if you haven't killed them in 5 years), the rubber goes crap, as above. Any cracks or signs of perishing on the rubber?

Re: What tyres

ahh good old bt021 you realy have to push that tire to make it work as it dosent heat up that well, had a set on my mt-03 and found that if you ignored the fact the felt a bit erm well sketchy in the wet and cold, and pushed a bit harder on them they did warm up and stick very very well never hand any of the problems im having at the moment

DO not TOUCH maxxis supermaxx with a 20ft pole they are utterly usless in the wet even when warm and skip a slide all over the place, in the dry thogh they are golden but we live in the uk so when is it dry? lol

got some avon storms to go on next :D
