Mate i had just under a litre left in mine but still crunched up . Ive been there and sold in parts more than inpayed for the bike in working order lol

Top end??! Most research that I've done into my SV's engine knock is that oil starvation tends to knacker the bearings of the front cylinder rod's big-end rather than anything up the top.

Low / no oil and you still kept running it?! I'm ridiculously religious with checking my oil, and will always keep it topped up to the full mark - I would literally be kicking myself if a 30second inspection and little top up of oil knackered my bike!

Good luck with sourcing the new engine / bike! As YC said - expensive lesson learnt!

I didnt keep ruunning it i just got it to shop then home, 2mins riding, and well saying top end thats just what they said from hearing it. Stripping it this weekend for more details then gunna do my research and find whats cheaper to repair or replace engine
