Hmm I did I miss that...

1. back would need to be raised significantly for this to work.
2. Creates back pressure on the front cylinder when there is none with original system.
3. On original system there is back pressure on the rear cylinder. Rene mod doesn't solve this as its only an extra hole with a welded pipe attached. Unsure if this system fixes it.
4. On mine I'm aiming to pipe the rear cylinder directly to the rear exhaust with little curves and no collector.

Could you explain what you mean by back pressure? You mentioned it in your PMs too... As I understood it, back pressure is an inevitable part of having an exhaust pipe- it's the pressure caused when each pulse of exhaust gas runs into the one in front. And it's designed for too, which is one of the reasons bikes don't run well with the downpipes off. But it seems like you'r meaning something else...

If you trace the rear cylinder pipe it folds back on itself to connect to the collector; these high-angular curves cause more back pressure on the rear cylinder when rev's are high.

My mechanical uncle (who's going to do the welding) said not to mess about with the rene mod and instead dump the collector.

Mm, yep, it's true that an excessively squiggly downpipe has that effect (Roy at OS Stainless built me a stainless rear downpipe for my 125 to replace the rusted out one, and since the Yam's stock part was a) very small and b) more or less shaped like a sheepshank knot, I got an extra 5mph out of it on the flat) We didn't bother trying to make the 2 downpipe the same length, which is bad form but didn't actualyl seem to make any difference.

But the SV's are just twisty, not dementedly twisty, I'd suspect that the pipe diameter is probably a more critical factor in the pipe's restrictiveness. That apart, though, I'm sure you're right that dispensing with the collector box will be less restrictive.

It probably won't make a great deal of difference, probably not noticable, but it's actually easier to do then faf on with the rene mod.

Yeah but that system that you show there is for the K3> there isnt the clearence on the the older model.
