thank god for that,,, the one I have is fecking massive and will do up to about 150 N.m which is about as much as I can push/pull/jump up and down on it anyway!

rear axel nuts tend to be around 100 N.m (all I know is that 125N.m is approx 90 ft.lb, as this is how much I have to torque mine)

I have a selection of front and rear stands.. but as I have no drivers lisence.... thats buggerd that up anyway! might not need stands, all depends..
Does the Thundercat have a centre stand ?? just might have to have the heaviest of us sit on the front wheel while the work is being carried out.....

Ive lost weight, and now sit at a respectible 14.5 stone! will loose more weight to make sure Im not heaviest.....

Torque wrench anyone??

hmm, my bike should have an endless chain, but like hell am I taking the swingarm off to do all that work... as is, the one supplied wasnt endless, and its being fitted on Thursday.. which means a treck over the mountains for me in what can be said as shait weather! which happens to be windy as hell on a good day :?

Now I must go and put my Iridium spark plugs in the bike...

Well then. I suggest a meet up at approx 08:30 a two hour ride which ends at Dr Richs place and approx 20 of us who have never done this before can then commence pulling my bike to bits to try and change the chain and sprokets.

Oh, I MAY need a lift home by the end of the day..ring my little tools kit and socket set...

And in response to Anna's question. Yeah, I still want to do it... Where there's no sense there's no feeling... I.E.. I'm stoopid and I want to try :D

valleyboy 28-03-06 06:36 AM

Dont learn if you dont try

I take bits off my bike at regular intervals...

Bloody hell mate, I just checked Multimap and you are but a stones throw away. If that's alright with you I'd like to rip your arm off at that offer. I need to buy the chain first.

I'll PM you to say hi

Right, I've just ordered the required items. Should be delivered on Friday to work, out with you lot on Saturday and hopefully do it on Sunday

Johnd
Could you give us a bell or drop me a PM with your number and I'll ring you. I might need to borrow your things... :D And maybe you, if you are free on Sunday, but if not then it's not a problem, I have destructions......... Errr, I mean INSTRUCTIONS

Dr Rich / Anna
If I borrow Johns tools and do it at mine then you are both more than welcome to come and laugh at me while drinking tea (well coffee, I don't have any tea, I don't drink it. But all the coffee you can drink is there for you) and then hopefully a pootle out on the bike to test it :D
John, you are OBVIOUSLY also most welcome to come laugh/help/take the pi$$. Unless you'd prefer me to do it at yours as they would be your tools
