I did that too while moving the bike through a little brick entrance, and scraped the LHS lowers on the corner of the wall - was proper gutted!
...Although since then I've binned it on a track-day and have got new lowers for it - Back to looking like new! :)

The stuff I used is actually blue. I think its called DUCK tape. You can get it at homebase or DIY stores. I used to to respray my car and I left it on in the wet etc for ages and it left no residue. The white stuff isn't waterproof and should be avoided. Look for one that says it can be left on for extended periods of time.

3M and Duck are both pretty good, the 3M stuff's ace. As a general rule, blue is good, beige is bad, but not always... But stuff bought in B&Q and stationery shops does tend to be rotten.

Don't worry - once it's picked up a few scars they don't matter - I have scuffs and scratches all over the thing. Just ride it and enjoy it before it corrodes away :cool:
