cheers pete, the swirl remover is pretty much the same as the farecla G4 stuff I have, so :cheers: that'll do nicely, I've never used it, but I can now.

Any further advice on the hard wax to apply, any good ones to recommend (no 10k a pot carnuba wax though, I don't own an Astra! ).

Yeah mine got battered in, I found the thing to just fill in the slight markings in the topcoat was half a tin of fibreglass body filler, followed by a few coats of "cheap-$hit" paint in the finest rattle-cans available. Applied in a "in that general direction" style, it forms an almost totally thief-proof barrier.
