What Curvy ? you mad bumbling fool . The only other bike in that shot was Ethariel`s Black Pointy , he donated the clocks from his bike to mine to see if that was what had caused my Non-Starting issue . My clocks were dead as well but as it turned out it was a simple ignition problem that only small hands could get to .

I have a curvy SV650S (Black), second hand, I'm second owner (bought in Oct 2004 - 6400 miles), now nearly 40,000 miles. Recent problems, clutch starter switch, leaking rad (fixed with Radweld), but reliable and I love her to bits.

Bought a second-hand pointy SV650S 06 plate (bought Sept 2008 - 3,300 miles having had two (?!) previous owners), now 4,000 miles.

Love them both, pointy in great nick, lovely example, but I love my curvy, too. She is now my 'winter hack' but still in great nick.

Having not ridden the pointy any where near as much, I think I prefer the curvy - closer to the ground, more fun in that respect, pointy more upright, but looks great.

As previous poster said - they are both great bikes. I think I will be stuck with them both. :)

Was prepared to trade the curvy for the pointy but the garage didn't want my curvy, as they said it had too many miles - well they did me a favour. As I have two SVs, one for the ****e weather and one for the dry weather.

My gain, their loss!!!! And I can't wait for Monday as I can get back to work on curvy, now the snow has cleared.

having had both there's nothing too choose between either tbh depend's what fit's you best just so happen's the pointy is a lot more comfortable for me neither's better than the other it's same bloody bike.

There's no difference in build quality. There's no difference in reliability that can't reasonably be accounted for by the Curvy simply being older.

Any bike, whatever its model or manufacturer, will deteriorate if neglected.

Was the paint not a little bit better on the Engine of the Curvy , the Pointy gets Scabby pretty quickly .

It`s an OCD of mine , I can`t help looking at Curvy Side cases and thinking "I wish the Pointy had a Black Engine with no Scabby sides"

Agree with Sid. It don't matter if you've got a nine year old curvy or a two year old pointy, if you don't look after it, it'll all end the same.

For instance, take either of my very old curvies. Stand them against anything pointy and you'd be hard pushed to see anything different build or paint quality wise. Suzy looks like new, but it took a lot of time,effort and money to get her that way. Black one is a bit neglected these days, but it ain't doing bad for a ten year old.
Will add, the only thing I get picky about is that on both bikes the swingarms are a bit knarly.
