Re: Post crash issues- write off
no sharp edges = gaffer tape fix.
So your covered for £1500 but your excess is £900 so if you're lucky and get a full payout you'd have a £600 cheque. In that case assuming the bike is only going to cost £200 and you can get it back as a CAT D then I'd buy it back and use the remaing £400 to fix it. You should be able to do it with about £200 left over as well. |
Re: Post crash issues- write off
sometimes the better the devil you know... your bike always better than the unknown.

Re: Post crash issues- write off
buy it back mate-its gonna be a cheap fix and as has been said you know what the damage has been and how it was caused.

Re: Post crash issues- write off
Thank you all for replying.

If they sell it back to you for £200 I'll give you £300 for it as is.
|
Re: Post crash issues- write off
They valued the bike at 2K. Scrap value is 850.
|
Re: Post crash issues- write off
You mean they want 850 from you to buy it back?
Thats taking the pith mate.Take the full 2k and buy another bike.Get a nice three year old one for that. |
£2000 minus £900 excess minus £850 for the bike you'll have £250 to play with. ^^ is right they're taking the pisch
Offer them £300 and see what they say, a scrap dealer wouldn't give them much more than that for it so it's worth a shot. |

How much is your excess? £900? |
I've never done it so can't honestly comment so ill take your word for it. Ftr i was working with the assumption that the 2k would have been a valuation where as scrap value is more of an estimate ie thats where you'd find your leyway.
