Re: Which replacement shock for Pointy?
For a £300-£400 budget Id stick a Nitron sport shock built to your weight into the bike (£340 to org members) and a set of K-Tech fork springs for £76.50 and then new oil and set the air gap. Just a tad over £400 but will work miles better than a GSXR shock and the nitron will be worth at least £250 secondhand when you come to sell the bike, unlike the GSXR shock.
Worth considering, the SV has a very good chassis and is worth it if your budget will stretch to it. |

Oh, forgot to say that I have a ZX shock and needed to modify the battery box etc (in fact bought a smaller battery). I would do it again if necessary but a brand new shock for £350 that bolts straight in os probably a better investment IMO. Then again I got my shock for £60 second hand ... |
Re: Which replacement shock for Pointy?
ZZR1400 shock is pretty much a straight swap. You only need to remove the bit of plastic thats screwed to the side of the battery box with 3x screws. I don't see what purpose it served anyway...

Re: Which replacement shock for Pointy?
I've got a ZX6 2006 rear on my K9 S. This list gives you all the info you need about what is compatable for the SV.
