Not gonna be able to make it to the Ace on Saturday as I am playing in a footie tournament in memory of a lad who used to play for the team that play where the tournie is held. Will have to heave ho all me stuff down on the Friday. Sorry to have messed peeps about.

We have a potential catastrophe.

The owner of the minibus just went to insure it for Sat and was told it would cost £25. This is for ONE DAY.

The insurers were then asked about next weekend and was told for the four days that would be £100.

If this is the case the whole idea is going to be scrapped. After having already told people it would now be free, I am not going back on my word. Not that anyone would use at that sort of price anyway.

So the owner of the minibus is going to phone again tomorrow and see if they can speak to the person they spoke to before who quoted the cost over the whole period.

All I can say is stand by for disappointment and I apologise in advance if it all goes wrong. :sad:

Soulkiss, arrangement with you still stands. Just it will be the car instead of the minibus if things don't work out. I'll still come down to the Ace and pick yer kit up.

Fingers crossed the information given out today was incorrect. Will update tomorrow.

I'm sure that those of us that want to use the minibus to get their gear down to AR08 camp will still be up for putting money in towards the Insurance?

I don't even know how many people are going to use it. If I go by the poll and the fact I know some of those that voted won’t be using it, then I think there are barely more than 4 people. I know if I were one of those people, I'd not want to stump up 25 odd quid for the privilege.

Si, sorry to hear this but......
I reckon it adds to the weekend if you have to lug all your own gear to the site.
yes I was going to take advantage of the transport but if it doesn't happen it's no major loss.
Don't bust a gut trying to get it if it's going to be a pain, I'm sure nobody really minds too much if there is no bus to carry their kit for them.
