But you weren't actually trying to get your knee down ;) If you go out with the soul aim to try and get your knee down I reckon 99% of people would start off attacking roundabouts ;)

Sounds like Mr kneedown - this gsxr rider weazlez and I saw at lydden the other day. He would come up to a corner, park it while shifting his entire @rse off the seat, creep round the corner with his knee scraping, back up into the seat, get the bike upright and only then would get on the throttle!

Not talkiing about me I hope  .

Well I have just been out for a ride with Need2RIDE and she went through a whole new pair of sliders, both knees, so I'm guessing she's playing Devil's Advocate here :D

Norhty, if people are riding slower when trying to get their knee down I guess they must be safer than those naughty speedsters:eye: OK OK, you don't have to respond to that! ;)

lol - no, it was a guy in the novice group. he had both cheeks off the seat & was hanging off like the proverbial. but he seemed to be enjoying himself & wasn't doing anyone any harm. quite the reverse in fact - he was providing great amusement for luke & me :-)

I don't see how keeping the bike upright on cornering prevents it sliding, surely whether its going to slide or not depends on whether the grip from the tyres overcomes the force trying to keep you going in a straight line (centripetal force?). Unless there's better grip along the centre of the tread there's no point keeping it upright??

That'd be the 'contact patch' ... and yes, it is greater the nearer the center of the tyre ;)

That'll tend to happen!! :smt056 ... they are smelly messy things anyway :smt106

So are you confirming that you wore 2 sliders, left and right - from new to gone in one ride ... or going to expose the Balky one for the lying toe-rag he evidently is?!?? :laughat: {Balky001} :smt044

Dude, if you are going to lie, make it at least slightly believable!!
