If anyone is worried about buying budget tyres and still paying £180+ supplied and fitted.. Then do what I did, battlaxe 023's front and rear, rear being 190/50/17 and front being 120/70/17 I paid £250 maximum fitted.

Then there is no worrying in your mind.

asked about diamonds in the local yam stealer today, will have a price in the next week or so, and expects deals a few weeks after when they promote them more.

I remember in the early 1970's when most new jap bikes were fitted with bridgestones the first thing we all did was to swap (a lot of us before we collected the new bike) them for Avon/Dunlops the bridgestones were like riding on marbles wet or dry. the same argument was used then, cheap far eastern tyres. Bridgestones are now the first choice for a good many riders. Maxxis Diamonds are going on my SV1000 when the michalin pilots come off. No i still dont like bridgestones but i guess thats more about how i lost all confidence in them in the 70s, though i've tried them i still dont trust them. Set of maxxis diamonds going to be fitted to my SV1000 after talking to some riders with them fitted.

I trust bridgestones pretty much because with the 020's they worked on those, designing, testing etc for three years solid, rather than just making them, testing them, releasing them and then moving on...

Also being the sole f1 choice of tyre.... That's good enough for me!

Try Tyre Stocks, Gosport. Dave is the owner and a rider who knows his stuff (PM me for the number).

ProTyre in Fareham are pretty good as well, although they tend to be a little more expensive.

I've run both the sports and touring tyres on my SV. I really rate both for the money. I had 021's previously and both Maxxis tyres are better IMO.

I'm going to try the Diamonds once I've killed the touring set I'm currently running. Unless a really good deal pop's up - then it'll be new sticky rubber for the summer...

If anyone finds out where you can buy the Supermaxx Diamond (MA-3DS) tyres in the sizes 120/70/17 - 160/60/17 let me know thanks. Ive been searching everywhere. Ive emailed Maaxis and waiting for reply, im going to call my local dealer tomorrow as I missed their call. Hopefully they have good news for me.

ahh. Ok scratch that. Just recieved email from Maxxis. They have no plans on producing the Supermaxx Diamond tyres in 160/60/17 this year. I guess that means no one will be fitting them to their SVs anytime soon. :(

Yeah. I wanted to try them new Diamond tyres. Guess I will just go with the standard touring ones. Found what seems to be a good deal for them here. With the 120/70/17 front aswell - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MAXXIS-PAIR-12...item5adef7d0e2
