crashes exiting edwinas??
was it just today or is it a common thing??
90% of all crashes today ( must have been at least 9 there today) were on the exit of edwinas... is it particularly slippy in the wet or all the time?? or just coincidence?? there seems to be a lot of scuffs in the track there too |
Re: crashes exiting edwinas??
Common place.
If you take the wrong line then the corner tightens up, a lot of people break and go down, or lean further and lowside. Its a really funny corner with a funny line. You have to go slow in to make sure you stay over to the left of the track after you have first turned in to make sure you get a good line when turning right exiting edwinas. If you go fast and take the natural line for a left hander then you end up on the apex of the right hand exit far to early, where there is less grip and there are marbles, and you will probably be carrying to much speed into the corner anyway taking that line. |

That is an odd corner. I found it really easy to go far too fast coming out of it. Managed to keep it right way up though.

Mmy son's 1st crash was at Edwinas, he highsided coming out after getting on the power too early. |

Yep, you crashed on the entry! ;) |
Re: crashes exiting edwinas??
I like Edwinas, it's quite testing. I don't usually like slow corners but it is quite good fun.

Re: crashes exiting edwinas??
Its fun destroying people who think they have massively out braked you... then they go in way to fast and too deep as you sail past them exiting.
Its defo a slow in fast out corner. |
Re: crashes exiting edwinas??
The trouble with slow in at Edwinas is that in a race you just get done on the brakes everytime so it may not be the best thing to do for the exit but you need to brake late and the entry speed you can carry in i have found is unbelieveable! Then just park it mid corner so the guy behind cannot get a run on you coming out, once you have got a bit of space between you and the next guy you can smooth things out and take the ideal line. But to answer the question crashing at Edwinas is very easy to do, you regularly see people run straight on, ( i did this when they first added Edwinas ) or lock the front and crash on the way in, usually because they panic and can't believe they can make the corner, then loads of exit crashes both high and low side, better off without it and go back to the esses proper now that was fun.
