Brakes

Hi guys, as you probably know I got my SV the other day. The front brake feels weird though, when I pull the lever in it doesn't pull in smoothly unless i pull it really hard. It kinda crunches... I dont really know how to describe it... I changed the setting ont he lever from 5 to 1 and this made a slight difference... what else can I do?

Cheers

put a dab of grease on the end of the brake level where it pushes against the master cylinder piston.(near the pivot point of the brake lever.)

the master cylinder eh... i honestly have no idea what that is!

Look at the left of the brake lever. It presses on a piston when you squeeze the brake. Thats the master cylinder. Grease the bit where the metal lever presses on the rubber cover.

Hope that makes sense

Definitly dont start touching anything to do with brakes.

Jake, if you can live with it until you come to one of the meets, then we'll take a look at it for you.

yeah i can live with it, just keep accidently locking the back wheel up using too much rear... :?

not sure when i'm gonna be able to get up to a meet... my work hours are VERY flexible... :(

The lever pivot needs a lube, Get some silicone spray and give it heaps. You will be as surprised as I was.

again... which bits the lever pivot
