Hugger fittings

hi everyone,

Can anyone tell me whether a hugger from a 'naked' fit an 's' (2003)? I heard somewhere that the holes dont line up the same.

Hope you can help

Hi Phil,

No it won't fit I'm afraid the holes are indeed different distance apart. I have a 2003 S and searched for ages until I finally found one on Ebay. You'll also have to be careful about trying to fit a hugger from later models - certainly with the OEM ones they won't fit as the K3 has a few subtle differences in dimensions to later ones.
Hope this helps.

There may well be, IIRC the curvy has different length swingarms from the standard to the S model to soften the steering

Might be best to phone up one of the manufacturers and ask if theres different fitments

Apparently the S model K3 has only one brake hose loop and the naked has two. Why?

I recently swopped my Pyramid hugger for an Ermax one, and that fitted my K3 naked perfectly even though it came off a faired K3 S. The front brake hose loop fixing bolt on a K3 naked is the same distance from the end of the swingarm as the frontmost one on a K3 S.

My pyramid hugger came with a god-awful nasty rusty steel bracket that wound its way round the swingarm. I replaced that with a lovely polished stainless one I made myself that fixed to the two bolts holding the brake hose loops.
