Bent brake pedal
Has anyone tried to straighten a bent brake pedal and if so what method did you use please.

Re: Bent brake pedal
I've also bent my brake pedal, it still works, and have been advised that as it's aluminium there's a very high chance of it snapping if you try to bend it back again.
The only problem I have with it being bent is that it seems to be slowly loosening the footpeg (over several months / thousands of miles) so the whole assembly will need replacing at some point. |
Re: Bent brake pedal
Heat it with a blowtorch and then slowly bend it back.

Re: Bent brake pedal
Yeh i did the same a while back and used a blow lamp to heat it up where it bent and hit it with a hammer until it eventually got back to shape..

Re: Bent brake pedal
It's alloy, so it gets brittle before it melts.
Better to heat it up, allow it to cool, then bend it.... worked on a gear lever anyway |
